I just received the Analog Four in the mail on Friday, and my first impression is very positive - soundwise.

However, it is a bitch to get into from a programming and basic understanding point of view. Apparently all these elektron boxes are very similar in their design and if you know one you know them all, but (and this is no joke) it took me as a complete Eletron novice 30 minutes to get a sound out of that thing. Granted, I had a few Glühweins inside my system, so i was very clumsy...but its not intuitive!!

That being said, with a sober head I learned pretty quickly the next day and I love the sound of it. Just fucking around I made some really awesome sequences right away, and the built in sequencer really helps to write hooks and melodies. THe double filter is fucking awesome, and the built-in effects sound really good.In the end, the reason why this is hard to get it into at first is that it crams a whole lot of functions and possibilities into a little box. And lots of possibilities create complexity. The concept of combining analogue sound with digital controls is very smart in the long run, Im sure others will pick up on that.

In short, now I am more than happy with it, but the first few hours we were not friends...

You have something recorded to show off the Elektron?
I'm very curious to hear some Psytrance oriented sounds
