I see the concepts of psytrance... darkness, healing, spiritual this and that, aliens, blah, blah, blah,... as just simply an accent to give the final product a bit of content/context. Very reminiscent to Iron Maiden or Yes and the conceptuality they used in there albums, except with psytrance, no lyrics... So, the ties to these themes can only run so deep... I think because of this, amongst other reasons, it is very hard for me to take any of these themes seriously... |

Wow, NO, actually you are not making any sense at all.
You know spirituality and aliens was a very common theme in the days of Goa, when this music got started in the first place, yeah when the music was the best it has ever been. And don't get to stuck up in words dude, because a lot of people when they talk about spirituality they are not talking about religion but rather a feeling of interconnectedness and respect with everything, which is very psychedelic. And so you think it's retarded?
And aliens, wow. Why is it a retarded concept when the more you take a deep dive into the world of entheogens the more you start realizing that many of these dimensions seem to be actually populated with entities and things that are completely alien to us. No wonder why the alien theme was so popular when this great music was born, yeah when the music was actually psychedelic. Entheogens provide a totally mind blowing window into new worlds, yeah worlds and feelings that inspired in many ways all the Goa music that got everything started.
I think you need to drink some tea and revisit your concepts of what psychedelic means. Seriuosly, I am starting to think this forum is more like a hiphop forum or something. Hey no offense
What is next, people claiming that the concept of entheogens in the psy scene is retarded? sorry.. but take the entheogen, and then discuss (while you are in the altered dimension)
You know I am tired of all this BS and people trying to hickjack the psy trance for what it truly is. They try to separate it from the spirituality feeling, from the enthoegens and psychedelics connection it has and everything that created it in the first place.
Can't deal with the fact that we are high here???
I rather they just call this music entheogen trance, so we can get back to the focus. |

Concept of HELL in psy-trance. I understand and like the concept of Ego destroying music. But much of these "HELL" psy-trance tracks isn't much about ego destruction. It's more about (not my intention to judge) being um ,,cool" and creating something extremely wicked that functions as a counterfeit to the full-on wave that had a nice cruise the last years. Maybe that full-on wave is slowing down, but as I see it, a killer-I-am-røffer-and-more-messed-up-then-you music that is making the new wave is just as bad (watching my words here, don’t want to shoot my own leg) as the full-on thing. It's meant to be cool. It's just another side of the coin. I and many people demand intelligent ego crushing dark psycho in da forest music. I don’t need a fashion statement.

(which is much more advance then to simply add fx, samples and make it run on 152 Bpm).  |
