hi there!
last time i see trance cd covers, band's, label's names and track titles and there appear such words as 'evil' 'death', 'hell', so on. those covers with blood, skeletons, fucking skulls, human parts, gibs and bones, vivid pictures of crosses and doomed caves... why is that? what is it about? how all this shit connects to psychedelic trance? and what should be next? VA - PERVERTANS with anal fisting on a cover? is it psychedelic? okay, maybe for someone fractal art is getting to be boring, but hey, why HELL? why demons, satan?
thats weird to me.

very true , it has no meaning being in psytrance, maybe its some revenue commercial bullshit , which the illiterate new generation relates to as the dark/night side , personelly i think it should be catogorically removed from the whole scene,it has no reason or meaning being there in the first place,there is sooo much good psychedelic art out there which evokes pure instinctive warm emotions , artists and record labels should choose theie album covers wisely , and send the right message throgh the visual dimention , and the sonic dimention as well , all this " your going to die" type vocals in traks should go , artists in there positions have the responbility to send the correct msg , i dont know what is wrong with sall these ppl,

they must be evil Satanists or something who worship demons and sacrifice chickens as an opening ceremony to their ritual/party. Then they drink tons of blood and pray to Shub Niggurath, the Black Goat of the Woods with 1,000 Young...
What IS wrong with these people? I mean, how can anyone ever look at skulls or dead body parts sprayed all over the walls, or furniture made from bones, and NOT be totally disgusted and run away? Must be sick in the head.
They sure send the wrong message. Cuz hey, you know, trance is all about happy fun cute candy things. No one ever wants to be reminded of the fact that we all are going to die, and some of us may die in horrible, unspeakable ways. Trance is about forgetting, escaping from real life. Right?
Cuz, you know, if they like death so much why don't they go listen to Black metal or something. Heaven forbid anyone actually make some kind of evil sounding trance music. And the people who like it must be deviants.

I think it comes from the deathmetal people of psytrance, lots of psytrance artists has a history with heavymetal music.
The cover art is often something that the recordlabels stand for so it dont mean that the artists had a evil or dark intent. As music is subjective it holds its own meaning for each of us.
But just as much as it can be a spiritual thing its most likley a commercial thing, things that draw attention is good for the industry!
its good that we both have dark and a light side,
It shows the truth.

Truth to be told, I would prefer anal fisting on the covers instead of V/A - DEATH HORROR KILLER FROM DOOM OF DESTRUCTION.

I don't mind when it's meant to be humorous, but otherwise it's a bit off putting to me. I just don't see how music that's about "evil" or "the devil" is supposed to be "dark" and tell something about our "scary inner dark sides". Both "evil" and "devil" are theological concepts, and without belief they don't have any power. |

The Devil, meaning Satan, is a religious concept, but devils, no capitals, are not necessarily religious.
And, maybe thats what they mean when they say Evil, maybe its ironic. Maybe they want people to think about what Evil means, and maybe they want people to realize that its all a matter of perspective! As you said, without belief, there is no power!
(Incidentally if you're talking about the Mistress of Evil label, they're about as far from 'evil' as you can get and still stay in the "dark" area. And Devilsmind, those guys are really nice people. I can say the same about a lot of Death Metal.)

Proposition: Why not to decor their party with fluro deco with skeletons, blood, hellish devil, pentagrams and goats  and a dj table should be done as a sacrifice table with a young virgin on it At the afterparty thi virgin should be killed and all the clubbers should drink her blood mixed with liquid or something. Such a nice concept for a forest open air )))

i dunno about that. I think trance has a lot to do with power, and power is neither good nor evil. It just *is*.
So in that manner, power being such a majestic thing and so full of the essence of everything, its not hard to understand why people could relate to such things as blood, skulls, bones and gore. Sadhu's in India smear their bodies with ash. Tantric art is full of so called 'evil' aspects.
