Trip, you totally lost my point.
I wasn't bashing goa. I was just pointing out that people take goa as something divine while full on is just crap. This isn't the case.
First of all, there is nothing wrong with minor scales. There is so much you can do with minor scales without it sounding like tiesto or whatever. The fact that most full on artists don't even know what a scale is doesn't mean that all music is like that.
Yes, there wasn't as much as goa as full on, which makes it quite boring since there is so much. But among the shitty full on (which does exist, unfortunately) there are gems. True melodic masterpieces which are much more complex than Am Em C G.

And besides, you can't call me a goa basher since you know how much I love goa. I'm just pointing out that full on is not bad as some people claim it is.

Mike A, I understand your motivation in responding to the numerous critisms regarding full on trance on this forum. I do not think all of them really intended on laying a blanket statement deriding full on, of course there are the 'gems' in full-on, as in all genres. So many stereotypical statements would motivate you to respond, no doubt. I think though that one reason people make such statements is due to the parties where full on is the only style played, and the type of people it attracts, and what what effect it has on the psychedelic trance community. The majority of the huge commercial parties mostly play ALL full-on, not much variation, and people who see this and dislike it respond in such a way. It is not only the music itself, I think. That is why I started thinking about how the parties with only full on attract SOOO many people, many of which are not there to enjoy the music, but for other reasons, and why this is so. So I started another thread regarding this topic. Please check it out if you want. In the meanwhile, enjoy what you enjoy, and don't let the full on bashing bother you

spliffnik, I'm not a party goer. To be honest, I can't remember the last time I've been in a trance party. The closest I was when I played a cd in my car and me & some friends danced to it
I'm speaking as a home listener. Of course the negative experiences from full on parties have an affect on opinions and attitude towards music, but I just didn't mention it at all.

Mike.A i really think your post sounded stupid and self-righteous...

why do you think people are bored with fullon? because many artists are doing same sounding baselines, and same sounding percussion.... same sounding high pitched bleeps and so on...
its very boring to hear so much of the same recipe... thats goes for all the commercial music.. of course there are gems and im not saying i dislike it all... it just gets boring after a while...

thats just my opinion....

they do. but, usually u can "hear" fingerprints of each track that defines the specificartist.

in full on music 80% sounds like if it was created by the same artist.

with alot of respect to all the genres...realy...the shit is been over all of them also the good things!
and KESTA i think that u need to delete the dj from your name if u think like this...u remind me my father that he has no shit about trance so all he hear sound to him the same.
guys i think that we need to understand that its not about "fullon rock" or "darkpsy rock"....
its the psytrance that rock us.
i think that in party we need the psy and the fullon and prog and...every genre have the hours that he need to play them.
if we need to be petty so...the full on is sound the same and the psy is just noisy the minimal is just minimal no power and prog...
so what we have is shit scene lets hear some britney speers...

p.s-this my opinion and i write her with alot of love!
