This is simply one of the most stupid things I've ever read in this board.

Second option: I'm not normal

Your second option should explain your post.

In my country almost everyone is catholic. This religion doesn't accept trance as been a way to worship your god. This means that almost everyone in my country that has never taken drugs does not believe in trance and sometimes finds it ridiculous...

i was like that too until i first went to a party and took drugs. It changed my life.Nowadays, i don't need to take drugs to listen to trance and feel a little bit out of myself.
Do you see what i mean Mike?
How can someone do trance music if the music doesn't mean anything to him/her?           You realise everything you learn is in fact just learned, not necessarily true...

trance doesn't have anything to do with religion..

Lemme add something that Bill Hicks R.I.P. once said in the context of musicians and drugs:
"Drugs have done good things for us, if you don't believe they have, do me a favour - take all your albums, tapes and CDs and burn em cos you know what, the musicians who made that great music that has enhanced your lives throughout the years?

Were Rrrrrealy fucking high"
Cheers.

If you needed drugs to open your mind and escape religion, ok....
You don't "believe" in trance. It's just a music ffs. I don't understand why people made it a religion, so you have to escape another to get into it.

I think that's your problem... i understand why some people made a "religion" out of trance (not sure religion is the right word, more a way of life), although i'm not one of those persons and probably will never be.

Explain to me why 3õ is one of the symbols of trance or why party ppl wear t-shirts with writings that noone understands except the ppl from India? Or samples using the name of Shiva (1200 mics - Hashish) or Ganesh (Fractal Glider - Chasing Ganesh)?
I could give you a lot of examples...

I think it's obvious it has a relation.

Music has been used for centuries to induce a trance state of mind. Ancients took drugs and played their instruments in order to 'talk' to their gods. And it still happens more or less like this in some parts of the globe.

adesh...dear ppl...ther is something in your words!
i think that most of the trance ppl belives in a
apiritual religion...and all the simbols and the trance fashion that come from india its because...that india be caught a very spiritual land...so...what that mean its..if u have this religion and u alive with her...so u dosn't need to take drugs to be in trance state...u alive trance all the day all the night...even u sleep u are in a trance state...so why?! tell me why i need to take trugs?! to say myself...ok now i'm in trance state...i think better,i can do a great things now?!all the drugs like we know its just a momentarily pleasure...and trance with a spiritual religion
is a eternal pleasure!!!:)
so...what i say its...that if u have this religion and u life with her it be turned to your way to live...and from this u can take out your best idea and craet some trance music or creat something
different without drugs...
this is my opinion and my religion anyway...

well well well, very interesting topic & i think i should give my humble opinion too.....making music with/without drugs are all one's own choices..........it all depends on the mindset of the producer....

drugs do enhance your senses and there is no denying it.......being drunk is totally different, u become sloppy.......drugs do play a vital role in opening the mind........but still, depends on how open the mind really is.............i'm going nowhere........so i put a fullstop here.

Well, there is also a difference between - being in trance / and listening to trance.

Religion has clear rules to follow, I don't think that's what the trance music scene is about.

At least not for me, quite to the opposite!

zooter : yes drugs are a role in opening minds (there for : psyche + delos (=gr. open) ) but are u sure that ppl use them for that? maybe a shaman knows how to use them for opening the mind, maybe also a "normal" person gets it, but not that deep that u could say its positive for making music.

Elysium, i think your'e wrong:
well, your'e right on the making of the track part, when an artists takes psychdelic drugs it doesn't neccessarilly says he's a better artist, but as far as playing a set -- the difference is HUGE! i've been to a million parties when the DJ just wasn't flowing with his crowd (i don't think i have to mention what that relates to...) and he sucked while playing his set. on the other side, artists who take drugs, just like to people who comes to those parties. let's not be innocent.           "He who makes a beast of himself,
