IMHO
this is pretty fucking cool.. so many styles within one party.. even though i'll probably find my self campin' in the mush room.. well i'll still have a lot to choose from.. maybe some techno heads will be converted to trancers in this party =)           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

For sure !! Marusha will blow away everything around !!

.. and what do say about Hux Flux !!

This reminds me large events that used to happen in Switzerland with several floOrs including the Goa one (where there were always the last survivors in it hehe)... Tolerance was something quite natural..

1. ALX - why dont proggy lovers try to do the same (take a full on album, listen to it again and again, 'force' yourself to remember how it felt like in the begining, the joy of uplifting moning tunes carrying the soul up to heaven...might be educational...)

dear helen
as i wrote in my message tech-progressive lovers, were borned also from the same music, psychedelic trance when the whole scene was more like one thing...so everyone of us either was listening to full on music,i think also that most of us even today have not problem to listen to full on albums, and we dance ofcourse with full on tunes in parties because in parties or festivalsfull on takes the 75% of time and we are satisfied if there is a 25% of tech -prog music.full on lovers are the ones who get really sick when listen to something else.thats why try my tip.2 years ago i also got sick with techno minimal prog sounds, feeling it was too small from me,and i can say i pressured myself in the begginning,so now i am the biggest fun of tech-minimal-prog style...its an advice for you top walk a step in front,i ve found my way...i m sure u follow...its just a matter of time...kisses dear full on helen

lol...U really wanna teach me about listening to progressive? Just dig out my releases and tell me if its full on or proggy...

off with the personal issue - why should anybody FORCE themselves into listening to music that doesn't fit them? is it a macho test? common man, this is music, not tryathlon... do u feel you have to prove yourself to somebody (you said yourself that you "pressured yourself in the beginning")?

With all my extensive progressive background, I must say that I find a lot more music in melodic full-on stuff these days. Its more music, less technique (IMO). And the bottom line as a DJ - the crowd likes it. we are entertainers, givers of good time after all; we dont come to force ourselves on ppl who came and paid their money for a good time.
This is not to say that everybody should play the same, mind you! IMO the desire to entertain should be the leading issue, coupled by the idea of personal good taste (for a DJ) and musical view.

True though is the fact that the level of tolerance for progressive is low in the Full on crowd, I remember this quite well - except for the Dinamo Dvash you couldn't play a proper 3 hours prog' set anywhere, ppl would come to you at 1:30-2:00 asking for IM/GMS stuff - really annoying, and ultimately boring.

bottom line: enjoy the music.
if you feel that the parties do not fit your musical style, dont go there, or produce your own parties where YOU can choose the lineup. know the scene, the promoters, the artists - so you can predict what the party will be like (just the same buying a full on album without listening to it before and then complaining about it being full on...and vice versa).

Because 2 years ago progressive music was also psychedelic. Today it is not.           Majority is never right!

and today it still psychedelic!

Come on people what are you talking about. I find here the most untolerant peoples. Can you stop talking about nuts!!!

You creat a conflict just insinde your minds. Outside there is no problem with Full on dudel dudel and Progressive umda umda. It dosen`t matter, where I go the people are always happy to listen some different sounds.

Really Christian, we are untolerant?
Who suggested to split the scene to 2? A very tolerant person I guess ha?

And if you call today's music psychedelic, then man, we've got 2 totally different point of views on what psychedelic sounds are about.           Majority is never right!

I never wrote who is a untolerant person. I just wrote that all the discussion about who is better full on people or progressive people is just boring.

but actually I only can read that full on people diss the progressive people. It`s it right? In nearly every thread is written that the progressive people are not open enough and that they have forgot their roots.

I think the people which listen to different kinds of dancemusic are more open as all the people that just get a horny when they listen to to full on.

btw ravergirl: I can find more interesting psychedelic elements in the modern progressive music as in every kind else. But I think progressive for you is something different as it is for me.

check out new acts like "INFUSION" from australia or "Matthew Dekay" or "Attica". They are making the new music which is between psytrance and progressive trance but they also us a big portion of deep techno feeling. New basslines, new programmings, new sounds and pure soul and sex.

so peace out and as I said it already we don`t need to split our scene, no better we have to reunite the scene.

Well.. I have written about 'roOts' in my first post.. so I just feel like reacting..

My opinion is that both 'sides' (it sounds so strange for me to express myself that way..) have lost their roOts at the first second they began to tease each other..

It's simply not a Trancey attitude... but a Hype Poppy one if u ask me..

I think there are more then 2 totally different points of view what psychedelic sounds are about.

There were just some posts about how psychedelic the queen of Disco Donna Summer was...

About spliting the scene; I think it's more of a transition of people moving over to other styles this days.. how many posts alone we had about Breakbeat lately. It seems that many people are looking for new styles.
