yeah, it says its the latest driver.
in the audio prefs ("Wiedergabe") "Playback 1-4 (Audiofire 4)" is set as Standard, and all works well, its just i cant play any other sounds while cubase is running.

it may be a problem with asio,release asio in the background, something like this... it s in the setting where you choose driver in cubase. |

You could try to deactivate the onboard soundcard in BIOS and set the cubase asio driver to work in backround when not selected. This should free the channels for other apps as you select them.

thanks guys, i did not even install my onboard soundcard, but i think the problem comes not from this.
it seems its some kind of crash. every soundprogram i start during cubase usage crashes. (winamp, vlc player, youtube...)
i think youre right with the asio stuff, i remember this option and ill check it out!

this worked well, thanks mate!
another question! with F12 you can see the VST activity. (in cubase)
with my old computer the "Disc" display was overrunning... now its at 0% but instead the "Asio" activity is working.
so, does now my interface makes all the work?
or what does this mean?

about the release asio in the background ,man this thing is such a limitation i can t belive asio is still limited to one aplication at a time...i worked a bit on my pc yesterday and it was so annoying ,there is probably a workaround, it s not possible ...you can use a other driver for the music player and other aplications.
about your question,no the interface dont make any works, maybe a bug i dont know,it s on the same project? |

dunno exactly but i think asio = cpu and disk = hard drive access, bandwitch. |
