Thats the reason I carry one of these. Well not for cdjs since you need a usb port. But very handy for laptop djing incase of 0 illumination.

-Bought a new mixer, used it to play live and the volume faders are glitchy when maxed out->the cut off the sound. Well, me not hearing any sound trying to see what the issue was, I GUARANTIED everything was up and to the maximum..
-Went to play in a very humid off site party with my guitar and forgot to tune it..
-Having a glitchy cable between the sound card and the computer, and other DJ's pulling it out (I guess it's my fault because of the cable..)
-DJ'ing on top of a very unstable stage made with construction easels and wooden pallets.. If I started to jump or dance, the CD would skip..
-Play wrong track (Going from track A to track B back to A) - but that ended up really well, because I put it at 175 bpm and there were a lot of techno freaks there who loved it!..
-During a school presentation (about music synthesis usage and design in application development) and while showing off my APC40, I unplugged it (while on Windows)..
-Not much of a fail, but in a birthday party I set up, the (lame) generator was dying out, and the (Christmas) lights faded out in each kick hit.. nice visuals!

but the one which I learned the most from was when I played my first track ever in a DJ set: although the track is very crude I still love the tune, but I had no idea about high passing around 40Hz.. damn did the PA speakers rumble and dance all over the place!

i'm not a dj but i still have a funny story on this topic:

we are two people (with next to no experience whatsoever) at a party of some friends (not private mind you) and the second floor is literally empty, so one friend comes up to us, asking if we wan't to try mix some old goa vinyls.
we accept and have fun fooling around, in the end getting some very basic but listenable intro/outro mixes. so i start to get ambitious and try my absolutely horrible beatmatching skills on the next record for a more sophisticated transition. what i didn't notice, was that my mixing partner had at the last break moved the crossfader to the record i was beatmatching. after laughing our asses off, we looked up and realized that in the last few minutes the floor had filled up with 30 people or so. sure enough, it didn't take long until someone came up to the booth and asked us to step down

Years ago I aged a set down on a beach on New Years say overseas. I danced to the tracks I was mixing for half an hour before the promoter finally had enough & asked if I could possibly get my shit together enough to play the music through the speakers instead of just my headphones.

Luckily we just laughed & I still got paid.           Cuntus Maximus.

Yeah it was a prog set (old Digital Structures & Iboga) so not so hard to mix. Next time I drank the tequila after my set, not before           Cuntus Maximus.
