For those who are still interested here is what happened to the site (that is now 100% offline)
IFPI FORCE RUSSIAN DOWNLOAD SERVICE TO DROP 50,000 TRACKS
It's been a busy week over at BPI towers. Yesterday the industry association
confirmed that, working with the International Federation of the
Phonographic Industry, they have successfully instigated an international
anti-piracy action against a Russian based download platform leading to the
removal of over 50,000 tracks from said download service.
As previously reported, Russian based JetGroove.com was positioned as a
legal digital music service through which consumers could access downloads
of specialist dance music. Although the website's owners had initially
approached some music organisations, including the UK's Association Of
Independent Music, in a bid to properly licence music for sale via the site,
no agreements had been made before JetGroove open a beta version of its
website to the general public earlier this week.
JetGroove insisted they would pay record labels for any tracks sold via the
platform, but key players across the dance music industry stressed concerns
that their artists were being included without permission. There was also
concern that some artists were promoted as being available via the service,
but after music fans had paid to subscribe they were told these were just
artists JetGroove hoped to offer soon. Others also reported that the MP3s
being sold were of poor quality, seemingly recorded off vinyl releases
rather than the original master tapes.
Following a cease and desist letter from the IFPI some 50,000 tracks have
reportedly been removed from the JetGroove platform. David Martin of the
BPI's Anti-Piracy Unit told CMU: "Whether it's individuals illegally
uploading files to peer-to-peer networks or companies seeking to make money
out of our members' copyrights without permission, the BPI's anti-piracy
unit is here to protect our members' rights"
Although none of the current remaining tracks and albums are believed to be
infringing their members' copyrights, the BPI and IFPI say they will
continue to monitor the site.

And a reply from jetgroove (I know, a big part of the message is the default lawyer text they where sending to veryone, except for the last bit):

website. We want to assure you that having started
a new Online Music Download Service JetGroove
pursued the objective of making your music more
well-known and accessible and BY LEGAL MEANS
ONLY. That means we DID NOT SELL any of your
music without obtaining a proper permission
(License) from you or other respective
rightholders.
The experience of showing your music on our
website without distributing was aimed to draw
our users attention to your music, with further
goal to make contacts with you on friendly terms
with a perspective of mutually beneficial
partnership. This project was created to promote
and give as much exposure to independent record
labels and artists as possible. That is exactly why
we didn’t not sell your music, but only made it
available for users to see, and get a feedback from
them. We can let you know at any time how many
of your tracks were put on hold and which ones.
All the time we were in touch with many people
from different music communities knowing what
was happening around JetGroove.com Download
Music Service. We hoped that our service would
help many customers to figure out for themselves
the music they like, and would help us understand
their needs in digital music. We hoped to provide
listen-before-you-buy service that would help
labels and artists promote their work. But despite
of our good intentions, we have met a strong
resistance from record labels and artists. And so,
with the best wishes to our futures partners and to
discredit all doubts about our legitimacy, we
decided to change a way we are going to do
business. From now on our database will include
only information that we have license for and
nothing else.
Hope this will tell you more about us than any
information you’ve heard or saw before. If you find
our project interesting for you and would like to
know more about JetGroove and see what we can
offer you, please let us know. Hope you’ll find our
offer to make your music more popular through us
rather reasonable and we can start mutually
beneficial partnership.

This is insane. They even transferred the accounts from jetgroove, i can login without creating a new account, AND they put everything (meaning all listening samples of tracks they shouldn't have) back online!!!
I wonder what the IFPI will think about this.
as for individual artists: start mailing your complaints.
