i like a lot to hear women voice samples singing or peacking, in a music. sometimes its the cherry on the pie  Booom
btw i think there are more women artist related to trance now a days and getting bigger all the time.  |

iv'e read somewhere (don't trust my word i read it on some website over the internet) that woman have greater verbal and emotional intelligence, and they are less good on the logical side (e.g math)
maybe man have a better abstract thinking,
music in general is abstract, but i think trance, because it has no use of words/vocals is more abstract than pop.

Hey guys, I am quite new here so first of, hi . The live psy soundsystem that I am half of contains a girl called Hannah. Shes a real cool chick and makes lots of our music, as well as performs live. Check us out if you have time www.cosm.co.nz

Sorry, but you whole post just shows, that you are equipped with a narrowminded male brain!
There are various different reasons, why there aren't many women philosophers, scientists and artists in human history and the main reason is, that women have been supressed by the male part of the species and didn't have a chance to be educated and express themselves in a way men could do.
Yes the female is different from the male, but that doesn't say anything about worse or better. Just different.
Your suggestion that women don't have enough brain to understand trance music, is just idiotic. Not only is it untrue, that women have less brain, but your whole concept of "Psy trance music ... using brain waves for transmiting his message instead of "empathy"" is completely BS. Music is much more about feeling and creative flow, than about understanding it with the mind.
I am really disappointed, I didn't expect so many male in here still having the classic idea of the male superiority over women.
That is really sad.

It's got to be said guys... women and men are different, yes, but musically, if you're gifted or talented, and have the drive and self discipline needed to keep your head above water in the music game, not forgetting ALL genres of music (just so we don't start generalizing).
So what about Salt n Pepa, Missy Elliot, Madonna, who all play a big part in the studio process not just rappin and singing etc... are they less talented than some of us intelligent men of trance? Are they "less complex" in their huge mansions??? What a joke!
I have female friends in the other scenes who are really talented and born to do it as well. Like Sarah who plays excellent piano of every style, particularly Jazz which is no less complex than psy trance I promise you!! She also sings for Nightmares On Wax along with her other solo work signed to major labels, she's very good at what she does... she plays live all over the world, and there are simply loads of other cases to mention - the point is - they work and concentrate in the same dedicated way but for different types of music..for some this scene is just too male. If you get into what makes psy trance what it is on the computer, there is a kind of formula to how it "should " sound. Once you have cracked the formula, that's it.. it takes dedication. just the same as other types of music. None of it is easy - if you've ever tried to write a pop song, it's actually difficult to get it as smooth and seemless as it is - it leaps out of the worst radio, because it's mixed so well usually. So yeah, there aren't as many women as men doing it, but it's not surprising - let's give the ladeez who want to produce a hand up the ladder. |

Hildegard von Bingen was a very good mideval composer, and would probably be a lot more known if she had been male.
Women simply wasn't scientists, composers or inventors until very recently, and if they was they were considered freaks and didn't get recognition and acceptance.
They did their work at home supporting the men instead, who wouldn't had time otherwise to do their great works because they would be to busy washing clothes and changeing dipers.
Instead of accusing them of having inferior brains maybe we should show them gratitude because of the way the have been serving men thru the ages and dealing with the most fundamental and vital work in our lifes.
Taking care of the young and sick and maintaining a clean environment is really worth a lot more than making a symphony or creating atom bombs.
Maybe the men was to stupid to see that and therefore was devoting their energy in to the more artificial areas of life.
But I can't at all from my experience agree that it should be a big disadvantage to be female producer/DJ nowadays and they don't get the chans they deserve.
I personally only noticed positive reactions when a female produce or DJ.
To me it seems like it would actually be an advantage and easier to get gigs as a female.
I think it's a lot more complex reasons behind the lack of females involved with the music.
Like I said, I think that the production part sometimes don't really come naturally for females.
But for sure there is plenty of great female instrumentalists and singers.
They can be highly musical, but often seem to work better in an environment where they work as part of a group playing live.
I think production work can seem a bit tedious to them because of the extreme focus for details required.

i'm a girl and i had ask this question before also.
i was completely ignorant about the issue until I decided to go to a college as I had to stop the college, there was this guy who told me to make music you need only a keyboard and a computer.
I was very desappointing trying to make anything out of cubase, and reason with the plug ins that make a total difference with the devices AAHHH  , I still made few noises that I enjoyed so much and lost everything with a virus in my computer. But I think I don't miss the time I wanted to bad to make music and I ended up in tears all the time I couldn't make it with cubase...
well but before I didn't even had a clue of midi, and know I don't think I would like to sit front to a computer and try to make music, before I would go to a college, but that is it, i haven't met others girls anting to make it, but I have realised, me had wanted was a pure loss of time
glad i am into other stuff now  |
