Everything is flowing, everything is changing: small want to be bigger, bigger want to be biggest => My friends! You're forgot simple thing: we are always grow. And creative power of our development and our experience always came from something new and fresh. Right? Every musical genre or direction (psy-trance, techno, rock, pop-music - never mind) mixed and inspired by each others. Especially - in progressive musical culture. Think clear.

Hello

OK, you all think its necessary to argue and critisize about music / art.

So lets start argueing about a red dot, a yellow square and a blue triangle on a piece of paper ..... some will see more then others, cause they use their imagination....some will just see colored objects ! Dont waste your time to explain Art to those people.

Create your own Hapiness ......

better is playing "pure" psy stuff and mix it with the "better" tracks from other genres.
i would never play any track from this compi, but i love to mix for example SETHERIAN "the shining" together with METRO AREA "Erodyne" or (to go back to good iboga stuff) EMOK "Da Shizzy" together with AME "Rej"

Better for YOU. You seem to forget that your "truth" is not everyone's "truth". For me for instance, the best at the moment is a hybrid where there is little of everything. So please explain to me why my "better" is lesser quality of your "better"..           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

sorry but IMO this conception is bullshit. if you are not willing to have some altercation about music / art / culture - there will be no development and no improvement. that told us whole art history for example. or what do you think how stuff like impressionism, expressionism, minimal art or what else was growing?
thats a fact man.

interesting discussion here, looks like the micro discussion about this compi has turned into a macro discussion about the direction things seem to go in the prog world (which is probably the only part in the psy world that seeks to evolve in any way).

my humble opinion is that this compilation is ok. i wouldnt play any of these tracks, probably cuz in this style i tend to stick to the sources instead of guys trying to sound like them.

but i do think it is an interesting step in a pretty new direction for Iboga, which are known for releasing only top notch stuff.
maybe their problem is that the standard they set is too high

still, the A.balter remix stands out as a solid tekky rocker, and the nyquist track is also good. so a lot of people will dig this, no doubt.

Cheers for Iboga , keep up the good work guyz

Here is my 2 cents:

Obviously the artists need to evolve and thus the type of music that is produced changes. However, I feel like what has been happening in the psy prog scene is that 'evolution' of the scene and its heavy electro-house influence, resulted in many artists 'evolving' in the same way and taking in the same influences and producing the same generic electro-prog as one another. The rush to follow the same trends has made the scene stale.

To me a true evolution of the artist is changing its sound, but taking in different influences and taking the sound into different directions than others. Too many use the excuse of 'evolution' to produce generic crap which is just following the trends of the moment.

All of the above is my opinion.

I really like this album This and a cup of good coffee is the perfect way to start the day. I don't care if it's all psyprog or houseprog or whatever, if it sounds good           Kimi-tachi wa keikoku sareta!

From my point of view, this compilation sounds good... I like that artists wants to explore new horizons, new styles... I like the new prog , electro, tech house, minimal sounds; and I think that it is good for the music... As Banel says "good music is good music", It doesn't need to put the post-it pure "prog", or pure "minimal"... only "GOOD Music"

Overall nice cd with some good tracks. Nothin like old Iboga feel but that chapter seems to have closed a while ago. I feel the nostalgia people are expressing but one must also raspect the choice/path the label/artists want to go. Of course I will continue to follow what Iboga freaks produce

Don't forget Set 2,Set3 and Set 4.. Anyway this discussion is very nice!Maybe a little bit off topic but it worths it!I have to say that some days ago I listened an old Iboga release,Constance Journey compilation..I think this is the most clever and best Iboga compilation for me and actually this is the sound that Iboga should explore.Maybe is an old release but its sound is closer to deep techno, tech house of today with successfull "results"

To all those that "wouldn't play any track of this compilation" because they prefer to stick to the source...

I wish just for fun, one day to take off the names of the artists from the tracks, and make you decide what you play without seeing the names. Remove the name Deadmau5 from most of his tracks, and you may find an excellently produced, but completely empty generic and bland music.

So basically what all of you say -

"Progressive artists, you are simply not good enough, please stick to your Dum-Da-Ga-Dum basslines with occasional stabs, minor synth chords, simple rhythm and keep it psychedelic. Let the real artists to do the other kinds of electronic dance music, it's too big for you.."

And personal word to Shachar Indepth ( and definitely NO OFFENCE here yo, but I have the feel that you are not completely honest here ): Shachar, 3 months ago you would be extremely happy to get couple of tracks from this compi, to play out. Its just now when all is released, it's easy to badmouth.. Because in any case the released tracks have 2 months to live and that is it.
