yes. words.
why not?
words are the most important thing.
i really dont understand your attitude.
all this "easy going, c'mon" blah blah blah leads to nothing.

..You realy think if artits like Picasso, Dali, Pink Floyd or whoever listened to the critics and changed therefore, became what they are today ? Go think and leave people their own interpretation of art....there is NO TRUTH !

sorry, but you have NOT understand what's the point, man!

everybody can have their own interpretation.
but i have the GODDAMMIT right to say that this interpretation is shit!

or - why not?
then you could say (to bring this to the extreme): "nazi skinhead music and a right wing attitude is ok - why not?"
everbody should have his own interpretation -

such artists developed their style because they had the feeling that some stuff around is bullshit - in the world at all, in arts, in politics - or whatever...

Words, my dear Constantin, are the most important thing to superficial people that buy stuff because of it's name, and don't really care if it's good or bad as long as it is a brand name.

Actions are the most important on the other hand, to people with deep judgement and vision and REAL understanding.

And your posts lead to what exactly?.. Till now you have written like 10 posts in this thread only, with a lot of grunting but in many cases the facts you have provided proved to be quite wrong... Here is "words" for you           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

i dont think so.
what was wrong?
i just wanted to say that this compilation is really lame, and some here agreed.
others not.
but the people who like this stuff are really strange in their behaviour to the critics...
what is wrong to critizise this stuff?
is iboga the holy grail?
you can hate me, but:
the tracks have ALL poor quality.
sorry YULI, i know that you are involved in that, but its no reason to become arrogant like this:

"to people with deep judgement and vision and REAL understanding."

only because i dont like your compilation i have no vision, no understanding and no deepness?

ok, then i have to become arrogant:

the guy who compiled this stuff on this CD has no idea about deepness, vision and definitely NO UNDERSTANDING of house music at all.

Constantin, somehow thru all this debate you manage to understand the replies to your posts in a very twisted way... I will copy and paste what I have written, AND THIS IS MY PERSONAL BELIEF, THAT IS HOW I SEE THINGS WITH NO SPECIFIC CONCERN TO YOU -

Yes, I prefer people who DO more than people who TALK. What is arrogant with that?

This is example to pure arrogance.

Now I am outta of this discussion, 6 pages is enough, who wants to contribute to actual REVIEWING the compilation is invited.           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

I have to back up Yuli and co. on this one. Those German guys have been making music since the mid 90s, for god's sake.

As far as releasing this stuff into the Psy scene, this thread shows the risks involved. I tend to see Psy as one of the most rigidly defined genres around, but some of us DO explore many other styles and have a broader picture of electronic music. So when we see artists being hyped for doing nothing more than imitating existing music, it is depressing.

Also agreed that some minimal/electro/etc stuff is more psychedelic than most Psytrance. The best producers understand grimy atmospheres, deep melodies, sneaky percussion, etc..

Huh?

But the again, was that the intention of the artists involved on this compilation????

We cant judge somthing on a different instance that it was mean to be.

I like this cd, another solid set from Iboga. This one is club focused and for deeper indoor moments.

I like Track 1.BLT & Danny Makov Patterns Of (A Balter Extended Version)

So fantastic, A real story is being told here. I chose to listen. I love the tale.

The nyquist track is sick! The rest will grow on me im sure. But the first track alone was worth the 16$.

Nice work Yuli

What an idiotic comment here, i was the one compiling this cd with emok, and to write such a comment about two persons you apparently dont know much about is just too lame. Seems like you dont even have the CD, not knowing who compiled it..

I was at my first house party in 1988, if i should go down to your low level of commenting i would add you were probably not even born then...

Frankly who cares what genre it belongs to
Its about the music and what it gives you.. Not what genre it is

indeed banel this statement was quite a provocation, but if you are really have joined early house - then i do not understand this compilation more than before.
to inform you:
i am into electronic music since 1989, i joined the techno revolution in frankfurt and was really into deephouse for one decade.
if you ever listened to acts like RON TRENT, CHEZ DAMIER or DERRICK MAY you will know what deepness means...
to go back to todays music:
just have an ear to the new album by HERCULES AND LOVE AFFAIR.
he knows how to give the early house roots new directions with some results.
ELECTRIC BALLROOM not.
sorry again my friend.

While i do not enjoy all the tracks on this CD, i applaud the fact that Iboga is trying someting diffrent than the usual "iboga" sound.

Incredible as this thread have evolved from a good review beginning, into a steaming argument about music, and who did what and when.

I actualy enjoy a couple of tracks here ...
but i guess it's not the best release from Ibgoa so far ... Even if i'm more into House, Techno, Minimal, or how ever u wana call it then proressiv trance (what i also njoy to listen) ...

but i think it would have been better to make a new named set of compilatios for this one ... instead of contiuing the "Set" Series with a completly different style ... I guess that's why some ppl here are a bit disapointed ... i think as the Set series allways were the kinda "usual" Iboga Sound .. and ppl expected it to to be continued in this style ...

it's great from Iboga to open the Label for new generes ... but i also understand some ppl disapointement about the"Set 8" because it's not mutch about progressiv Trance music ...

So i guess "fans" of the usual "Ibogastyle" just have to wait for some further album/compilation track releases by Ace Ventura, Liquid Soul ,Freq ,Perfect Stranger and the other usualsuspicious once ...

just my 5 cents ...
