It's not necessary to take drugs to enjoy music.
But its necessary to listen to music to enjoy drugs.

most muscians smoke dope,thats a drug...
it makes everything sound great.thanks for it shiva.
psychedelic music sounds best on psychedelics,hence the name..psychedelic trance.

Not at all... -you can do whatever you like if you can control it in a way that doesn't get parties closed down by the police or ruined in other ways.
but!:
1.
I just don't think you speak for the rest of us when you say that music sounds best when your on drugs.
2.
you say that most artists use drugs, which is not true. I know alot of artists and none of them use drugs while making music and almost none of them use drugs at all.
3. (the worst one)
You say that Psychedelic trance is named like this because it is best on Psychedelics!?
-It is named Psychedelic Trance because the music is (was) concentrated around the psychedelic trancelike state you can achieve by listening to it intensely. The Monotone heartbeat'ish Ground rythm, the everchanging filters, phasers etc. along with emphasis on evolving soundscapes and weird surprising sounds etc. is what makes it Psychedelic and the trance you can get yourself into when listening/dancing is what makes it trance.
If it wasn't so, -I wouldn't make Trance at all, so speak for yourself please.

i disagree completely.
popular conscensus from parties where most drugs are consumed is the fact that music sounds better on them.
most artists i know need coffee or smoke to keep them going(there may be exceptions,but not many who can freely get these things)
why was albert hoffmans 100th birthday recently celebrated if psychedelics and psychedelic music arent connected.
anyway,lets agree to disagree. |

wow i never knew ppl used drugs at parties, i always just thought that when you listen to enough trance music you eventualy get to a state of mind where you dont ever need sleep.

Why do you think? The only difference is some are legal, some are not. A drug is a drug, no matter if it's nicotine, ephedra, amphetamine or valerian. Some are harmless, some are dangerous, some are shady. Some I like and some I dislike. Some are celebrated by society (e.g. aspirin), others are abandoned (e.g. heroin) sometimes without reasonable cause (e.g. LSD). It's just like with humans ore music. There's so much diversity and it's so inadequate classified by most people.

in Denmark we have 2 categories for Illegal drugs
1: "Light" Drugs :
Pot and hashis basicly.
-These are considered less dangerous and more predictable by the authorities.
2: "Hard" Drugs
Skunk, heroine, Coke, LSD, etc. -the rest basicly. These are considered very dangerous and the jail/fine sentences are also way longer/bigger
Now, -If it was up to me, alcohol, Cigz etc. should be put in the first categori as well, but I do not dissagree with the Scientists who claim that there is a difference between these 2 categories.
and yes all is relative and you can kill yourself with a spoon if you really want to but lets not go there. 
my point was that the "drugz" in the thread title wasn't meant to include ALL the socially accepted drugs etc. It wasn't "the music or the coffee" ... thats all I'm saying... this is a pretty useless turn the debate took there.

Coffee lifts you up, Coffee is addictive, you can die from Caffeine.
Why should it not be considered a drug?
But I'm hijacking again a thread into drug-topics, so shame on me. I apologize 
PS: it's not the drug that is light or hard, it's your handling that is light or hard.
