I'd like to know your experience with this VST plugin.

Cranking out basses from Virus, from http://www.sunesha.nu/virusforum/ :

hatembr's post:

1 osc
- 1 filter in Ser4 mode
- NO FX
- mod matrix/LFO
- low cutoff, middle res, almost closed filter envelope

u can play with the filter settings to vary the bass timbre
play with the amp decay/sustain to create either aggressive or smooth basses
i somtimes add the second osc, detune it and let it a bit audible to have a phat bass, this is the way i do it!!

PUNCH, ANALOG BOOST and the EQ !!

And Juho L's reply to that post:

deep bass:

Do like hatembr said and addition to that use SubOsc in Tri. And no punch. It makes annoying snap sound and we don't want that,
do we? Set punch to 0 and some attack on amp envelope. Maybe some short envelope shot on filter to spice up the sound (Filter
envelope to low value around 20). Set the filter on Ser 6 and to -64. Also set Mono4 on and set the portamento quite high to
easly create smooth slides.

moog bass:

One or two saws. Filter to Ser 6 and -64. Quite high resonance (about 64) and low cutoff (somewhere around 30). Add filter
envelope. Set it on high value. Little bit below the point where the filter opens completely. Best way to set the envelope
amount is to set the sustain of envelope to max and also the envelope mode to max. Then start to lower the enveloope amount
until you hear the sound change. There's the spot. Then set the sustain back to 0 and lower the envelope amount to more
suitable non-bright sound. Add some filter attack (20 is nice value). Now you should have a classic Moog bass (No. It's not a
fish). Add analog boost to suit your taste. Now you can play Karn Evil 9 bass line. Hooray!

I reckon it was a standalone program, not a vst plugin. Would like to know if there was a vst version of it as well.
Killer app.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

You are right. It was a standalone program. Unfortunately this awesome tool is nowhere to be found on the internet. Few years ago I inquired about it at some production forum and some user pointed out a VST called CM303. He said it is "something" like Rubber Duck but it's actually far from it.

Also nice is fruity 3xOSC for bass. Don't underestimate its simplicity. U need just the one of the osc as saw. Adjust the envelopes and draw ur bass notes. In the pianoroll u can use directly cutoff and resonace parameters for all notes. A little bit of eqinq and compressing and u get a nice full on bassline            Signature

yeah i'm using the 3*osc in fruity n i'm getting really good results w it...just a question abt eq & compression
i'm compressing my bass 1st w a ratio of 12:1, Gain 5db, attack 2.5 ms, release 300ms,
then eq: boost a lil off d following frequencies using a parametric eq: 70,400, 800, 1600, 3000
i know i shouldn't be complaining but some of my songs sound a lil too bass heavy! am i doing anything wrong?           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

ohh yeah n i forgot to add i cut off everything below 40hz from my bass...then i export my mix to wav...open it in soundforge and use another parametric eq to cut out everything below 20hz...should i b removing any high frequencies as well from my mix? i don't know wt i'm doing wrong but all my mixes end up sounding quite loud (going well past d 0 db mark when i open them in soundforge...thanks a lot for giving me tips on wt i might be doing wrong!

the whole idea is each will hae its own quality bassline no?!

otherwise u all will use the same bassline and go nowhere...

but when i think about it deeply, who cares!!! bassline is just bass feeling, what important is the music, melodies rhythms... so heck gimme your basslineS !!!
