Detox I think you have no clue about how to describe psytrance unless you talk about the music released on your label I guess.
If music has boundaries I guess we are talking about pop music, because there you need a formula to make a hit song!
And about the hell in psytrance, don't worry it will all go over and we will have st new.

OMG Mouka now i have to send you a my laundry bill, that cdcover should be covered by a huge "Parental advisory - explicit and very disturbing cover/music".

Imagine if that falls into the hands of a child he would probably turn his dick inside out like an elephants trunk.

This topic is now partially overlapping with "stop calling psy dark", but please distinguish between the darker kinds of trance - not all of it has "horror content".

Compare a dungeon with a forest at night - while both are "dark" only the dungeon is a bad place.

The reason I like "dark" is the atmospheric/ambient sounds and feel. I've never liked the "horror" stuff, partly because I find it childish and partly because dancing to something is about getting into the theme of the music.
(Same reason I don't like dancing to cheese.)

Wrote it already a few times here.. I think these covers with skulls, graveyard landscapes and all that "morbid" stuff are everything but dark.. Dunno what is scary with it, someone has to explain to me.. It's all kitsch to me, and I have the feeling to get back in the end of the eighties haha, when i was diggin' Helloween, Manowar, Judas Priest and the likes.. Stoopid puberty !

As long as the music still has an "evolution" I don´t think it does any matter what messege ther is in the tracks or on the cd covers etc..           - - - - - - - -
It's time to move on to the next step in the psychedelic revolution. We've reached a certain point, but we're not moving any more.

Well said, I feel the same way. Nothing against kitsch per se, can be funny, but appears old, retro and unpolished - not appealing to me - I just have time to go through things that sound thrilling. In my opinion this hellish marketing strategy is a big piece of crap and bad taste for an underprivileged crowd. Nothing against very fast music. Nothing against dark/evil idea that counterbalances light/good making a whole. Nothing against sages and deities that personify evil. It's just the marketing strategy and the trend of people copying that to their own image as means to attain some sort of "power" - that's just lame, all imo of course. Unfortunately that doesn't happen only in this front but in other fronts of the trance scene as well and that keeps away so many nice people. Damn labels, made for jars, why do people hide behind them, probably cuz they are too afraid and insecure or because it's the easier way to get through, but that's life, there's good stuff too. Have a nice day and, as mothers say: keep yourself nice. :^D

very true , it has no meaning being in psytrance, maybe its some revenue commercial bullshit , which the illiterate new generation relates to as the dark/night side , personelly i think it should be catogorically removed from the whole scene,it has no reason or meaning being there in the first place, there is sooo much good psychedelic art out there which evokes pure instinctive warm emotions , artists and record labels should choose theie album covers wisely , and send the right message throgh the visual dimention , and the sonic dimention as well , all this " your going to die" type vocals in traks should go , artists in there positions have the responbility to send the correct msg , i dont know what is wrong with sall these ppl,

So many outdated people here... I am very glad psytrance is no longer solely in the hands of the weak...

haha, Yahel is truely the king of stupid covers. i mean how does someone see that cover after making an album and think "yea man...perfect...thats a cool cover"

as far as hell or whatnot i think it basically comes down to creativity is in seriously short supply in this scene.
