For real. We just had a thread here about psytrancers having punk and hippie ideals.
Is it so surprising we reject Coca cola sponsorship?

May i then suggest that none of you with so-called punk and hippy ideals (all old and vanished movements) dont go to the festivals this summer.. Most are sponsored by corporations (some even multinational) to be able to finacially happen.

so many ppl against cocacola sponsorhip...I bet tho that at least half would buy a bottle of coke on a party/fest. if so, why not use the oportunity of them sponsoring the event...it is us who really gain more.
Cocacola is too powerful anyways, and rejecting their sponsorship for a party makes no difference to this coop. at all.

ppl need to wake up from their delusional worlds and finally b humble & realise that psy trance cannot change the world.
...just use(& abuse) the given opportunity and have a quality time           Why u little !!!

And that is the reason slowly but surely psy trance is becoming more of the same, loosing it originality, soul and culture.

Could have been worse. Pepsi is alot more mainstream then Coca-Cola. Look at the Pepsi commercials compared to Coca-Cola. Pepsi needs Britney Spears and 50 Cent in the commercials, and they make fun of Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola has never attacked any other companies nor needed celeberties in the commercials.

They're both corporations though, and I don't like that. So either way, way to stick it to the man.

I've heard that over and over again since 1992 and yet it changed zero. All it did was to inspire the fashion designers and other music genres and to attract a lot of wannabe label owners and a lot of drug dealers that saw a chance to make fast money out of a lot of lost kids.. It did not feed starving children or did anything remotely political.. Simply because sadly it's a non political scene with a lot of lazy wannabe hippes who get scared if they actually have to put action behind their fine words and drug related illusions

I know it's harsh words and that it's not all the case but there's some truth behind it even if i exaurated it a bit to enhance the understanding

I am glad it's a non-political scene. Hip-hop was a lot more radically political, and look what it's become - co-opted by the establishment to serve its own purposes. I'd rather psytrance stay off the radar and not serve anyone's purposes but its own. And if it changes me and some people I know for the better, even that is good enough.

          ..it's just another party..

If you dont want a political scene (and thats fine with me) then you and other people who I know also dont want a political scene should stop trying to force their very political views and ideas on the rest of us. I see so many political views and indeed ideoligies in these threads but yet noone of you are willing to back up your words with action So what is it going to be? Fine empty words or action? If people want respect they have to put action behind all these find words and ideals or stop the rants and just have fun and party without all the extra small talk

The original poster got my respect because he seem to act the way he believe but that cant really be said about many so called treehuggers and wannabe hippies that preach here

True that! But we should try to change that and put action behind our ideals, not give up!

I mean it is nice that trance is so nonpoltical. It is wonderful to be able to escape from world politics and news for a bit at a party.

But I think the time has come that it is just plain irresponsible for us to sit by and do nothing. Just look at what is happening in this world! The power of coproate-government alliances is being consolidated, Evangelical Christian fanatics are gaining more and more power, the USA is on the offensive across the world, Europe seems to be experiencing an anti-drug and anti-immigrant conservative backlash against the era of tolerence in the 1990s...

If people dont speak up these trends will not be reversed and we will all be very sorry we didnt put our words into actions but it will be too late.
