Or maybe we should stop traveling to all the festivals around the world.. Those evil travel agents and commercialised Airlines that polute the air and make way too much money. Or maybe we can use them as sponsors. They do seem to make a lot of money from our scene too |

Kakoo in Greece you will loose money no matter what kind of party you will organise simply because the expenses for a good party are always more than the income from just the tickets from the entrance fee.
Police hunts psy trance parties all around the country for many years now and the people got tired from getting busted so they turned into other kinds of music like house,techno and progressive.
I mean just last week we had three parties closed by the police,two of them even before they started...
Just like i said before driving a car might seem easy but thats not always the case

i asume you understand that is just your point of view cause that has nothing to do with reality!!!
or you have never heard goa trance or you are apart from what iboga is releasing!!progressive house more similar to goa than dark trance??? my god this is why coca cola is starting to promote this kind of events!!
but thats a different story and this topic ain't about what is more similar to what so... |

It's deffinently a reality that the early music in our scene was trance in it's full meaning whereas most so-called psychedelic music today has very little to do with putting people into a state of trance.
And what does Iboga got to do with this? I rarely listen to Iboga stuff.
Secondly I am probably one of the few here that actually been a part of the scene when Goa was the thing and I actually also made music at that time |

If by Dark Trance you mean all this 150 bpm music coming from young israeli,portugese and russian artists and the tracks that i listened to the latest Goa Gil compilation then this thing has nothing to do not only with psy trance but even with trance in general.

i respect both your points of view detox and handA but in my opinion bands such as xenomorph or dark soho has much more to do with bands such as kindzadza or grapes of wrath than with bands such as antix or other progressive bands, but as far as i can respect your point of view i also assume this one is mine and i shall not make it a rule, just an opinion.
i also wonder if this evil 150 bpm songs you talk about are just evil cause of the high bpm or by the song itself! |

hmmm again I dont listen much to Antix or Iboga stuff so I dont really know who you are refering to here?
And my point is not about BPM but all to do with the naked fact that many socalled "dark" bands introduced us to titles and subjects relating to things like evil, the devil etc. etc. subjects that never have and never will belong to this scene. And I am talking about the psy/goa scene.
Ask anyone that helped build this scene or anyone that was a part of this scene prior to 2000 and you will hear the same. Again some people that came late dont know the first thing about our scene. They just saw an chance to release their dark evil "music" because our scene is way too easy to release music in. If they could have released their music in the goth/metal rock scene they would have stayed there. |

Well Lithium we just disaggree on the fact that GOW and Xenomorph are more related to the trance scene than Antix and Ticon are for example
And just like HandA said,how goa is a track named silimaki murder tool kit (or something like that) or tracks named global destruction,evil mind and names like that?

i´m only saying that this so called "dark" ain´t something new invented but portuguese and russian kids as you say it. it has been here from the very beggining with bands like i´ve said before like xenomorph or dark soho, bands that have tracks with those kinds of names way before the year 2000.
the thing is i also do not agree with such names in tracks or compilations or even bands cause i also don´t feel it has nothing to do with trance itself and the ideology behind it, but as for the music itself i found in this so called dark trance a greater evolution than in progressive or regular full on. this so called dark bands have achieved in my opinion a greater use of new technics and new ways of makin danceable music rather then the constant use and abuse of the same 3 or 4 nord lead and access virus presets.
if you ask me if i like to hear this kind of music at 10 am in a party no for shure, but i rahter hear this kind of music at 4 am than any other kind of music. |

Please Lithium I really don't know what Iboga records has got to do with the point of this thread... sponsoring!
And if you really think artists like Antix use the same pre-sets on the nord lead and access virus then you truly are delusional... they spent up to two years making their last album... I'm sure it wouldn't take so long to just sequence some pre-sets over a kick n bass!
Remember people... Trance is a state of mind not a type of music.
And IMPO I feel the PSY in psy-trance is limited to a very few labels/artists!
