Please Lithium I really don't know what Iboga records has got to do with the point of this thread... sponsoring!

And if you really think artists like Antix use the same pre-sets on the nord lead and access virus then you truly are delusional... they spent up to two years making their last album... I'm sure it wouldn't take so long to just sequence some pre-sets over a kick n bass!

Remember people... Trance is a state of mind not a type of music.

And IMPO I feel the PSY in psy-trance is limited to a very few labels/artists!

don´t take me wrong. i don´t have anything against iboga, on the contrary, it is in fact my favorite progressive label, no doubts on that, the same goes go last antix album which in my opinion is brilliant. i only used iboga to describe progressive labels in a non depreciative mode. any way about the presets i was slso not refering to progressive artists but some full on artists. i know i shouldn´t generalise cause there are always exception which should be taken on account.

people still believe that "dark" psy is evil?

anyway, i think HandA got sponsored by Coca Cola to hijack the thread and veer the discussion off course.

I hate all this sponsorship and product placement. It's got just stupid. These days even the voices in my head tell me to kill with the great new range of Black and Decker powertools!           Am i the only one who believes in solipsism?

so many "political right" people here

i know you in one form or another use or wear branded products

so much for the hippy attitude

without sponsorships many of the big festivals would never happen.. eat that

Nothing wrong with sponsorship in general but some of these big companies are just scum. They would sell their own grandmothers if they could get a good price. What next... 'I'll take 2 McDonalds Happy acid tabs please'? ... and then book 2 weeks in the Coca-Cola rehab clinic           Am i the only one who believes in solipsism?

So you know all the facts and know that coca-cola is scum?

All this "we hate all the big companies, they are scum" stereotype talk is getting OLD

I dont think music should be sponsored by non-music affiliated companies, whether its Coca-Cola or McDonalds, not because I think all big companies are the scum of the earth(which I do) but because then they'll start dictating what kind of music should be played, the kind of people to be catered too. In other words, their interests aren't the same as an artists.
Props Baphomet, can't wait to see you guys live.          We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love... and then we return home.

seems that some people can't wait to sell the music to the corporate dollar.. how long until the corporations start to dictate what music is to be played at THEIR event and which crowd should you be working to attract?

Dimitri, where have you been. Corporate dollars dictate not only the music ppl listen, but what lifestyles they should live, what to buy, what to think, what wars to fight, what can we learn... Corporations are the cancer who will bring this world down to its knees in a sea of ignorance, death and devastation... mark my words It is already happening.

What is this? Devil's advocate week at the Coca-Cola shareholders club? lol

You know as well as i do that if there is a bandwagon to jump on, they will be on it - or yet another way to get their brand name hardwired for life into the brains of young people then they will find it. They are just capitalist money-making moral vacuums - simple as that. Whether it's the mass brainwashing of 3rd world countries or sponsoring small parties - its all just a days work - and another curly logo or creepy grinning clown on display. That's not cliché or 'stereotype talk' - thats just the way it is, mate.

In the light of this it is my opinion that they are scum - and i think it's 'fair comment'.

Yet, it's legal and a great way to make money - and if it's the only sponsorship you can get then you will probably take it (that's exactly what they are counting on). Just don't try and defend it on moral grounds.           Am i the only one who believes in solipsism?

That is what I thought until President Bush got elected. I dont know what country you are from Hand but the anti-coprorate agenda exists for good reasons. If you dont have a problem with them elect a corporate puppet leader for your country and see what happens!

It is not the ppl that form a corporation that makes it a problem, but the rules on which the corporations are built.

there is such a thing as corporate responsibility. (even a quick google search brings up the following link for Social, Ethical and Environmental
Investing and Consuming &
Corporate Accountability:
http://www.goodmoney.com/home.htm) The problem is that most corporations, including coca cola do not abide by this code of ethics- they simply exploit all their resources in order to make the largest amount of profit.
if you feel you need a sponsor in order to throw the type of party you want- what about finding sponsors that are down for like minded goals as the psytrance community... something that would be mutually beneficial. How about a company that is eco friendly at least...
i find it odd that in America, the most craziest capitalist evil in the world, the psytrance parties are the least commercial i have seen anywhere i have been.... maybe it is the burning man like ethic that has grown here and spread to the psytrance community...           Bringing Dreams to Life!
