we need to make the scene more politic!
we really dont need things like coke and mega shit corporations
the underground have the power

the true trance spirit cannot be shopped or sponsored in this way

Good so next time when i organise a party and the club owner,artists and sound and visuals provider ask me for money i will tell to them 'Come on guys psy trance is spiritual you dont need money for providing me all these stuff,lets all sit down and smoke a joint all together shall we?'
Also i love your way of thinking,you blame multinational corporations for what they do but you still download mp3's illegaly (like they pay illegaly less money their workers in third world countries) feeling like you said even less guilt now than what you felt before.
Some people in this forum are just amazing....

For me psytrance is most certainly and absolutely about promoting love and respect and stuff like that!! if it weren't i wouldn't be doing it!!
There is no need for corporate sponsorship at all in these parties... it is the exact opposite of all that i feel we are trying to do with this movement! I think parties should be less of a "production" with sponsorship and more of a co-creation with like minded folks. The intention behind a party is sooooooo important, what kind of intention does Coca Cola set for the people. 
Congrats baphomet guys for getting out! i would sure as hell refuse to play,i wouldn't even attend a psytrance party with big name sponsorship, in fact i won't even drink that toxic shit. Its just not about that for me.
conscious partying...we need more of it!!!!!!

seems that some people can't wait to sell the music to the corporate dollar.. how long until the corporations start to dictate what music is to be played at THEIR event and which crowd should you be working to attract?

hum i agree with baphomet if the organizer say that is a small party no money to pay to djs , then he put big announcement in the street talking about the party , just for make more money , then it says he dont pay artist, pff u have done the more correct bro ,

I think the problem is that a "small psychedelic gathering" turned out to be a "big party". And the organizers wanted them to play for free! The orgs lied!
Anyway, I like light coke!

ppl here in brazil don't know shit about psytrance culture, even knows the difference between each music. they don't look for information, don't look for have a taste (don't matter the style), they just listen to anything and say that's is KILLER. that's the problem.
BUT here still have some good producers that knows the spirit of a party, and that's what the "old-school" ppl has looking for.

The main problem is, and i have already used the exact same example of Coca Cola as sponsor in another thread a few times ago (as something that could happen), if you accept their sponsorship, you will have to accept the appearance of their name here and there.. That means their logo on the flyer, and that especially means large banners with ads to be placed on several places of the party/festival site.
My definition of a party is to FORGET ABOUT what I can live/see/hear all week long.. All week long we are surrounded, OVERHELMED with advertising and visual communication, you have photos, pictures, draws, slogans, baselines everywhere..
Parties are one of the LAST place where it is possible to get out of that system, to forget about it for a while, and enjoy simple things, share good moments, tease other people, in a word "LIVE" !
That's why advertising has nothing to do with parties.. Take the example of the Zoom in Switzerland, after the Street Parade.. Despite all their problems (this year it's still not sure that there will be one), and especially despite the HUGE ammount of "competition" with other large parties the night after the Street Parade, there are dozens of them with endless lists of sponsors, the ZoOm festival kept being the last and the only one to be independant..
Just for that I pay much respect to the organizers, because they believed IN something. They didn't open their buttocks for more schweizer Francs..

First of all I dont see it as a problem that there's a big sponsor behind a party... basically it's needed these days. It's always been normal in Denmark to use sponsors like Carlsberg, Tuborg, Heniken etc. And the parties are not bad because of that. The sponsors help so the organisers wont loose a lot of money. Promotion is very expensive and so is flight tickets, artist fees, rent of location etc ect.
Now about PLUR and peace and love.. It's long gone dead! And believe me todays agressive and very fast music dont really promote peace and love. And I am pretty sure that the mentioned private party (aren't all parties private or dark psy has nothing to do with peace and love and how the scene used to be - vision wise - in my opinion of course.
Just my 2 cents. |

Kakoo you speak like a party organiser always makes a profit and always tries to find ways of making the more money possible.
Have you ever organised a big event yourself?I guess no cause if the answer was yes you would obviously understand how helpful a sponsor is when the bill comes in the end of day 
Extra money are always welcome for a party,more money usually means better organisation and better facilities and services for the people,no bigger profit for the organiser.Also more money usually means less loss cause rarely in our days a party manages to make a small profit or even break even
And by the way only people that work without sponsor believe in something?People with sponsors just do it for the money?Sorry but things dont work like that in the real world.
Money moves the world around people,artists,club owners and sound providers dont work for PLUR you know
