If Kakoo and Offthentboom you believe that psy trance is still a kind of music dealing with spirituality and Plur and stuff like that then sorry to inform you but you are something like 7-8 years behind our modern times.

Welcome to the real world of globalisation and multi corporations.

It still is about spirituality and community where I live. And I like it that way.

I think we already live in the post-modern times. Actually, I do believe in a spiritual live. Whether it is through trance or through every second of my life. GLobalization and transnational corporations are the conditioned illusion that those in power are slaving us to believe.

I trully prefer to be the Dalai Lama than a Neocon And i will apply this not only to my trance philosophy, but to my life entirely. I wish and I hope you would respect that, like i respect those who sell their creative goods to corporate interests. I just will not support it... It is my choice... I still have a choice, right?

DETOX you will have to explain me clearly what makes you believe that I'm into spirituality and PLUR in the three last answers I wrote in this thread, PLEASE !

It's just too easy, DETOX, because in the end you should have to admit that i'm not so wrong but you just don't want to do it..

Refusing the star-system and all its implications doesn't mean you're a hippie, you know.. You should go out a little bit and see what happens in the nightlife DETOX, you should in example see T.Raumschmiere playing live and then tell me if you think this guy is into spirituality and plur..

Things have been blown way out of proportions here. No one say that we have to make flyers where Coca Cola or anyone else have their company name all over the flyers/posters like the example with Tiesto.

But I fail to see how wrong and "political uncorrect" it can be that Coca Cola, Heineken, Carlsberg or whoever have a small Logo on the flyer, poster, website etc. If that give the organisers money to make the party the way it should be like (nice deco, good soundsystem, money for promotion, tickets to the artists, money to the artists etc) then who are any of you to say that it's wrong?

I suggest that those of you that are so "spiritual" that it's a sin for you to be in a party where "evil" multinational corporations have a sponsor deal stay away and make your won small "underground"c parties in your backyard. Frankly you will have a hard time even find a Festival this summer without some kind of sponsordeals.

Newsflash. All over the world the parties in this scene have been sponsored as long as i can remember. And that's a long time. Even parties in Goa got sponsored from time to time...

Kakoo when you characterize words and terms like Demand And Offer or Star System or Sponsors as bad when at the same time these terms are part of our everyday life and when you say that no organiser who uses a sponsor cares about the vibe in his party but just for the money then you sound to me at least as a person who hates the business aspect of organising a party and you sound more like a goa hippie or a 'spiritual' person.Sorry to inform you but in our days organising a party is directly connected with business aspects either you like it or not.I dont accuse you for your thoughts though because only when someone tries to organise a big event and then in the early morning hours he ends up owing 5000 euros to artists and personell realises how important a sponsor is to a party, and from what i remember you have never organised a big event, please correct me if i am wrong.

Offthenutboom for sure you got a choice to do whatever you want in your life but from my point of view being Dalai Lama in our days in a world that changes everyday wont get you very far.For me the best option is to adapt according to situations and be the Dalai Lama when needed but also be a strict businessman when also needed.

By the way i have to say something to all concerning Sponsors. The term Sponsor was invented more than 2200 years ago in Ancient Greece where rich people were donating money to theatres, music halls and athletic games because without these money it would be impossible for these events to take place,in exchange the Sponsors gained fame by having their name mentioned all around the city and sometimes they even accepted prizes and honours for their actions by the government or the people, being a sponsor back in those days was a real honour for most of the people.I dont think that much has changed since those days, today Coca Cola spends huge money on events in order to provide them with good artists, good soundsystem, good facilities and various extra things while the only thing that they usually ask is the same that the ancient sponsors also asked which is having their name mentioned and letting the people know who finances the whole project, they also hope that they will boost their sales a little by being advertised through an event which if you ask me rarely happens since not many people notice who sponsors an event in our days.I mean when Tiesto was here last week i didnt even heard one person telling me 'Hey Coca Cola is sponsoring Tiesto',i just heard people saying 'Hey Tiesto is in town so lets go and see him'.

To sum it up for me Sponsors are a gift from heaven for party organisers and i think that whoever disaggrees with that doesnt know much about organising an event and probably has never lost money on an event.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

That's the funny point now..
Why should it be all black or all white, HandA ??

My example, the Zoom gathering needs just a tiny little bit more space than a backyard... HandA..

We come back to my point of the "run to the more" .. Is that really necessary ? A good one-night + day after with a smart line-up is largely enough for a party in my opinion..           .

If you go to their Business website they have a menu that ask for donations and show a bank account number where money can be paid to.

Furthermore they have a list of some artist, people, companies and indeed at least one multinational corporation have helped them in various ways with money or reduced prices, fee's etc. ect. It might not be a sponsorship in a normal way with a logo on the flyer but when they get a reduction in the price from example Heineken and free webspace from alocal websape provider etc. then it's indeed sponsoring.

Go to their website and see for yourself

I'll just say a short sentence without explanations because I have a business meeting in a few minutes (haha) but I'll explain later this afternoon..

Ending up owning 5000 euros means one thing : bad calculation of the budget.

Or in rare cases : serious lack of luck (big storm, tempest, whatever)

See you later           .

Sorry Kakko but if you think that you can loose money in a party most of the time because of bad calculations then obviously you have never been involved in a big event.

By the way some of those 'rare cases' that you mentioned involve big rain and storm (happened to my parties more than 3-4 times),earthquake (happened to me once),taxis and means of public transport being on strike with no prior notice (happened twice),artists loosing their planes and having to book new ones (happens many times for various reasons),police or the tax authorities closing down the party even some times before that begins (happened 3-4 times also),somebody announcing a bigger event than yours just on the last moment and splitting the crowd in two with you loosing a lot of money (happens all the time also),people just choosing not to go out because they dont have money or because of choosing to spend their night on the cinema, with their girlfriend,on familly meetings, studying or various other things.

These are just some of the 'rare' cases that can make you loose money.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

Which is 100% right, DETOX.. But I don't feel bad or frustrated about this, don't worry..

I have just a simple question, is it necessary, when you know you are very likely to loose big money, just to go on organizing such big events ?

Do we really need several days festivals which are in a way or another destined to sink ? And where one can witness everything is made to save as much money as possible for what might be considered by the organiser as details but in fact affects directly the people who went to the festival ? (like in example having to pay for water, having to pay for the toilets, having to pay a lot for drinks, and so on)

You say sponsorship is a need is this case.. As I said earlier in this thread, sponsoring is not inevitably selling one's soul to the devil, of course not, but in this case just to try to stick to an ethic and not choose any sponsor which is known to be taking advantage of the misery of some parts of the World.. Or some sponsors you can see in tv reports that they would prefer each human being on Earth to be drinking their own product than fresh water !

And I'll go beyond, if it is just not possible to set up such an event without big sponsoring, like the Tiesto party where you can see that the main sponsor takes nearly a third of the surface of the flyer (!!), then in my opinion, and if I were organizing myself I would just lower down my ambitions and stick to something that is more human scaled ! Because this is the essence of a party : the share between human beings ! Share of emotions, energy, vibrations, feelings !!

HandA, we can see that you have chosen only a very small paragraph of the whole site, good try, but as I see you can understand german a little so why don't you translate the whole "Spenden" page, where they clearly explain why they have to do this.. and where they say it is only to be able to go on with the zoOm at the cheapest entrance fee as possible ! They do that for you and for me and not for themselves !

I am sorry, an entrance fee fixed at 25 euros for two deejay sets is not aimed at allowing the most people as possible, I mean different socio-economical categories, to be able to be a part of the party.. It is aimed at earning as much cash as possible, you won't make me believe in the contrary !

In a global way, when the organiser think with dollars before anything else it is pretty normal to see in the end musicians acting as if they were supermen ! So keep the party at a human scale and everybody would have much more fun !
