he just left on his own accord when he realised it was a free fest and out
of his control - no gate money was taken as people travelled from far and
refused to pay for acts they were not going to see = free fest = the not
nice side of Portuguese and Spanish (and many other) travellers and techno
rigs arrived
We packed up and also carefully rounded up alot of freaked out trippers
and calmly told them to quietly make their way to Freedom, or just go and
camp somewhere away from the site, or come with us to Morocco. The gist of
the message was leave now and find somewhere/anywhere nicer.

Fuck... and here I was all this weekend being upset that I couldn't make it.... Looks like there's something over my shoulder looking out for my well being... Man that really sucks to see happening at any event anywhere, looks like my first trip to Portugal will be next year then...
I hope all the people who went and especially my artist friends are safe and sound and trying to make the best out of a bad situation.

Loke/Kim: Mental Soup was not cancelled, alot of chaos (no organizing almost, moved from Swizz to italy, 1day less).. But still a lineup (written also lol)..
See on friday btw  Will be really nice 
But there were so much rumours about this festival, im glad i listened to them.. I knew something fishy could very easily happen..
I know my friends are ok, but sad about the situation ofcourse.

I was just about to leave for freaky, when i got a warning from a friend that was already there...
Im truly amazed.......2 festivals down the drain...
But this is what we learn from, both artists and guests............kwack kwack.......if it walks like a duck, .......the chanses are that it will suck!
God luck to all of u down there,.........cos!, always look on the bright side of life........
But i realy feel with the organizers as well, to bad u let ur own good intentions down......

Hello,
just arrived from Shamanik.
I red a lot of things in here, that is not true:(
In the first day there was a lack of dj in the both dance floors, i was playing about 4 hours in dark floor due to this. In the second day of the festival, there were no artists, the main floor was closed, adn the dark floor stiil continued with some music 'till noon. The security wasn't there, no people from the organization, nothing a complete mess,
But there was no confusion with the travelers, i don't ear any shoots from guns, nobody stilling anything, the ambient is peacefull, regarding to all the lack of organization.
At the end of the afternoon, i went dinner with some friend to avis, when i notest that there is no one at the gate, the party was abandoned, but everything is calm and peaceful in the recint.
During the night, some of the dark artits went to play for the remaing people in the recint, 'till 9 o'clock in the morning.
In that time the police arrived, and with no violence at all, ask the people to leave tge recint.

been searching for ages in portuguese websites for any news and haven't found anything...
i even looked at local radios and newspaper website but nothing....
so i suppose that wasn't any tv in there as it has been said in here....
What a shame about everyone who paid 100€ for a ticket and then had to leave the party without watching any of their favorites dj's...
Would be nice to hear an explanation from any one of the organization. At least we would know the real facts. (would we????)

it was pretty obvious that this festival would be a huge blow up.. i really don't understand the people that decided to go and pay 100€ for this.. well maybe foreign people didn't know, but portuguese people that know our scene should already know that this wouldn't go right, especially with freedom festival so close.
the same happened 2 years ago at updown festival. i was there and learned never to trust these kind of festivals again. so i decided to go to freedom fest only, bad line up but i'm sure all the conditions are assured
