lastest news reported by a brazilian girl named laura who is working at the gate;
the staff tryed to get what they can to compensate the non payment, security guys started a riot and they attempted to kidnnap the promoter and almost killed him because he didnt payed security has well, 1 security guy has been shot to dead, police has been called to control the situation, ppl got crazy, is mass confusion in the venue, many artists are watiting to be driven to the airport, the promoter (jp) is at the police station nobody knows what`s going on now. |

Thanks for updating us with some reasonably reliable information. Im very sorry to hear of such calamities. This has escalated much much further than the average festival flop. Which in these extenuating circumstances, i'm very glad now i'm aware of this, so we can steer clear of getting involved.

I think thats the most that can happen if the so called "security" at some of those flop festivals dont get paid...
what interests me is who shot the security guy...maybe jp or one of the orgs when they tried to kidnap him?
anyway, all this doesnt seem like a trance party at all...and somehow I need to say, dont get me wrong here please, but its the job of the security to make sure that no weappons come inside the festival no?

hey thats a sad news.. glad i dint go ... but its a bad reputation for whole portugese scene..
i hope this will not effect any other parties and festivals in portugal.
portugal is a nice place and killer scene.. hope it will stay that way. |

its very bad for portuguese scene, and thats happening because a crazy french man called JP decided to make shit in our country.
We have enough good festivals...we dont need nothing like this shit happening here.

Crazy....
It must be a lot of people around now not knowing what to do. I came late yesterday from spain/freaky dragon festival(!)to Lisbon, but no festival shuttles of cource to shamanik as advertised, and no busses that late so I was stuck. Im glad I didnt go yesterday when I read this!!! My friends where thrown out of the festival aera by the police this morning. Im waiting for them here...
Maybe we can make some get together thing at a beach? We can also make the two first days of freedom festival befor our flight goes back home to Norway.
What a festival summer this has been for me: Mental Soup: Canceled, Freaky Dragons: Canceled, Shamanik: Canceled.......And they where all canceled while I was there!!!
This party summer has been great in Norway though, so im realy looking forward to get back home this weekend to a 3 day outdoor party near Oslo! Hope to see many people there, and it will be legal of cource!! http://www.goatrance.de/goabase/party/details/33206

wow...this shit sounds very scary....
i was booked nearly 6 months ago for this festival, and i made a decision in the last moment not to go to play, as my tickets had not been booked, and i was strongly advised that this festival could end up a big mess.
this summer has seen many cancelled festivals, as new promoters jump on the trance festival bandwagon, thinking they could do it better and make a shit load of cash, without any real structure or organisation or money to make it really possible.
thats why festivals like BOOM are a gift....can u imagine the logistics and organisation needed to put on an event of this magnitude? With sincerity and creativity and top organisation? This takes years of experience and dedication, which im sure many of us just take for granted.
im sooo glad not to be at shamanix, and i feel really sorry for all the artists/djs and freaks who showed up to celebrate and participate thinking it just might be wonderful, instead this sounds like a fucking nightmare.....i easily could have been one of them....
this kind of event has such a negative effect on the trance scene....it destroys our trust, and endangers the future of trance festivals around the world......

bad, bad, bad...very bad.
reading all this what happened and feeling really sorry for the people and the artists who went there.
a lot of intl. parties went down in a very bad way this summer - not to forget also the big mess of the drops reflection in austria and a few more as mentioned before here.
portugal has a fantastic scene with a lot of beautiful people in it and is anyway a beautiful country. i really do hope the authorities can make the difference between the genuine organisers in their country which are doing a great job for years now and i hope that the authorities and on the other hand the portuguese scene is not giving any opportunity to similar crap organisers like this one to
organise any parties anymore. not only psytrance ones.
aggression is never the answer to anything that happens - so that somebody got shot shows what kind of peeps were behing that thing
it a shame - as this peeps are taking the risk to destroy what other people had years to build up- unbelievable
my thoughts are with ones which were left stranded and went to that festival with the best of intentions
but the good ones (festivals) will survive and will last even longer - as the other ones will be avoided
