Great to hear that the festival is happening, people are having a good time and that a lot of people didn't travel far for nothing - but blaming the artist for cancelling because the organizer failed to do his end of the deal, is in my opinion very inappropriate.

wishing all the best for this festival...sorry that I can't make it, other priorities...i'm sure it's going to be great...

Yeah, and the only difference between what you mean by "last minute gatherings" and this are about 100€ for each one of us.
Don't be morons, what happened here has no excuse. The same @ freaky dragons crap. The one i see here that thinks like me is Shawdonese. He won't go to any of them, as I would do the same.

I agree. When you pay 100Euro for a party, the lineup should be what it is promised. If not, free party or maye 10-20Euro (and pay back pre sale tickets please).
Nobody cares who is playing - Thats not right. If you go 30min by car to a small party, ofcourse its "the same" (for some).. But when you use 100s of Euros to get to the party, you would like to know that most promises are being kept. Most people (thats really into the music) choose a festival with a lineup they want and need.

I totally agree with all that...
Good for you if everything's ok, but for most party-goers this won't be the case as too many artists cancelled and that people DO care who is playing. It's a festival, not a party, remember? All the best to all the artists who finally made it, and good luck to find some artists next time... |

What makes me even sadder is the amount of people from lots of different countries along this topic saying that they have to come because some of the travel expenses and festival tickets were already paid.
I mean, I think they'll manage it, you can have a lot of fun here in Portugal without any festivals! Or, they have Freedom Festival, which is organized by a very capable team.
But I think that having to "manage it" when it's YOUR vacations, the ones which you are waiting since last year and when you could have gone to VuuV, or other great known festivals, no, you have to get stuck, with lots of money spent because of one guy who sadly gets screwed once after another.
I mean, people don't care! People want capable Staff, professional people! Who knows how to handle situations, earlier planning, logistics, staff, a normal-sized line-up, resuming, having a degree on Events Organization wouldn't be an exageration on my point of view, but for me, experience would be enough, a thing that this JP surely doesn't have from what I have read of his party organization background.
So hippies, kids, megalomanic-pseudo-organizers: Don't try this (again) at home! If you know what I mean

The truth is,do you all want to admit it or not,the real purpose of ANY trance festival lately,is only to make a money.
This desire can be covered up with the ""underground "" manifesto or kinda ""dark"" lineup ( which for some reason gives for some ppl the illusion of uncommercial gathering,forgetting that DARK direction now is much more commercial that any others in a scence of attracting the people),or can be just openwise commercial event -big names,etc ( what is,IMHO ,more honest ).
But the result is one-Yes Money or No Money.
Yes Money situation ( includes also more investement,more open budget,and as a result more professionals in the team )-the Fest usually happens,organisers got what they wants,and the next year we can expect No 2 edition.
No money situation-the budget is low,always problems inside the organisation,balagan with the artists and payements,never clean official papers,and as a result usual disaster,and not the very good reviews and memories.
What makes me feel strange year by year,that accordning to the line up ( it is the main budget item ) lately the enter price for the summerfest is around the same -100 Eu,which is really high price for the Festivals,that making ""Uncommercial ""gatherings,and paying ,exept 2-3 Big names,very small ammount of money for the invited artisis( usually is the dark direction,or some unknown djs or liveacts,who are happy to play even free,but to make a masses to listen to them.
It s comparing to Big Commercial Festivals,where anyone opening the flyer see the names and understand what they are paying for,and,know also that he will be provided by all neccessary conditions for this payement.
I can tell you that me,personally,I love small REAL uncommercial underground parties,even free djing,no problem,.But when I have a choice for djing on the festivals,I never accept a bookings from unknown organisations or lowbudget lineup events.
As a result,I played on more of the biggest festivals in the world,never even thinking to sign a contracts,many time payed ahead from my pocket for the flight tickets,and NEVER had the problem with any payement.
Probably, an advise to the travellers and the artists
is to choose better your summer programm and stop the choice on the trusted events,but if making mistake and choose the wrong thing,at least dont shout after all -""They wants only money,they dont make this,that and there....Its crap,etc.""
And to the festivals organisers-if u already mark a high price,try to equal this cost to the efforts you put inside and the level of the furthercoming event.
I mean,Korean Daewoo and Mozeratti Turbo cant cost the same price,so c'mon,be realistic |

Hello,
some friends told me thus the sudden festival have got of big problems with safety and people were attacked since yesterday evening thus if vs know artists or people who want to come, can you please prevent them…

The little dancefloor playing yet with 30kw of sound
and the chillout also.
Thus it become a free party now with approximately 1500ppl.
Its happened many serious problems with the security guys who was very violent & which they are taken towards the organiser in sequestration while many hours, organisation people as of the people.
They are with policeman to carry felt sorry for etc…
The festival beguining to play and there is Life Extension
whos playing when i received the last news,
all that is quite sad, we are worried ...
we sending you our support, courage & pay attention,
take care !!!
The FREEDOM Festival decided to open the doors more early for the shamanik fest. people, txssssssss !!!

so next time you want to tell us

a quick resume:
Security problems happen.Ppl from the org start saying to everybody to steal everything they can cause the org can't pay them.
Due to the assaults somebody call the cops...ppl start leaving the fest to avoid problems with the autorities...it turns a mess.
JP was kidnapd by the security and he's now in a bad state (probably). They took his car with all the money...others organisators were attaked and there is a lot of artists with no place to stay, no money blablabla.. i think everybody leave the fest... but the PA still in the place.. TV was there also...
Bad organization, irresponsible and uncivilized ppl and thats what happen...
Good news: Freedom Fest will open sooner. |
