My mom and dad were both hippies in the 60s. My mom says it reminds her of her younger days without the monotanous beat. My dad just simply spaces out... we think he has flashbacks.....

when i put ambient stuff, my parents are fine...absolutly no complaints, my mom even likes shpongle tracks (and the rest of the ambient i have)...
the real mess starts when i put something full on, or starting to make a new track. as soon as the kicks start pumping the yells from the partents are flowing through the house :"Turn it down!!" and more screams, what can i do, its not my own house so i have to turn the volume down or put headphones.

but most of the time i can listen to it without problems if i dont put it in high volume

cool topic
my parents hate trance (and all kinds of electronic music, heavy metal, rock... they just like pop, ugh!), but they are used to it so they don't scream anymore when i turn the volume up... sometimes i say to my mum "you HAVE to like this song, it's great!" and she's like "yea right, it's just noise"... she's a lost soul

Realy cool topic

Well since a few know already my father has been and are a forensic cop who started his career 20 years ago as a squadcar. Now thats an easy thing to stumble upon when u are 13 years old and brought your first Thunderdome Cd into your house, thou i can imagine how it was for them now when i spin on of those terror cd´s . It took a few years until he realized that trance is so much more than an xtc and 12 hours of monotonic dunka dunka music... Hes actually quite intrested in my work and often pay a visit by the computer My mother was the most caring person ive ever known and she never had any problem with my taste in music or "life"... She was terrified when i pumped up PPS Project - The Craft once but who wouldnt?

Peace

They really don't mind, as long as the whole house doesn't vibrate.

both my parents dont like/understand the stuff.....

their only concern is dont hear it too loud u will spoil ure years           At the end there is a DOOR & waiting for you on the other side of that door is either HEAVEN or HELL

Yesterday, my mom said to me while a track of mine was playing in the background, "Is this still the same song?". I looked at her and said yes... and continued with "Try taking away the vocals of any song _you_ like, what's left is 10-times more monotonus and repetitive than any electronic track". And that is the truth

Really though, my mom is okay with it... I don't bother her with my music everyday, and I listen on headphones a lot. My dad has the general parent-electronic music opinion of thinking it's all boom-boom-boom and nothing else.           To hell with reality! I want to die in music, not in reason or in prose. People don't deserve the restraint we show by not going into delirium in front of them. To hell with them! - Louis-Ferdinand Céline

Seems like all parents in the world have very similar reactions, even mine they could not tollerate the boom boom boom but they are very tolerant and even want to listen (or Pretend to want) to some of the music i make and they pretend to like it! But it's so obvious that they do not understand anything of what they are listening to! hihihihi
