My mom calls psytrance "Devil and Rave Music."

Do I care?

Nope.

On the contrary though, she likes alot of my psyambient stuff. She has asked me to make her a mix cd of some of my ambient stuff, but I have not done so yet .

All my friends, except for one, hate psytrance and psyambient.

Do I care?

Nope. That's why i'm on the quest of meeting more people into psytrance, hehe.

Everyone's got the opposite problem that I have. My 14-year-old rocker daughter is constantly telling me to turn my music down... luckily as it's my house, I don't have to do what she tells me AND I can turn off Kerrang every time I go in the sitting room.

However on the positive side as far as she's concerned, all her friends think she has a REALLY cool mom...

You up for adopting an 18-year-old psytrance sprout? No? Not even for a short vacation or so...?

my parents like a few tracks actually, especially one's with indial classical instrumental overtones.

it's damn cool to see them bobbing their heads to the music           If you can't lower heaven, raise hell

With my mom its always been "uuufff turn that thing off.. i'm getting a headache.." with my dad it always varies.. at one point he used to listen to techno and mainstream trance, that was when i wasnt into electronica at all.. now its just "this is music for drug addicts, its all the same". sometimes he'll immitate ppl shaking their heads on xtc, who he's seen in techno clubs..though i was once woken up early in the morning to the sound of my dad blasting acid for nothing-1200mics on our extremely loud system.. hehe. that was funny.. now he gets more pissed cos i not only listen to trance all the time but also sit on a trance forum all day long..

My parents after all these years they finally wish me "good luck" when i'm out for a party.
They even came once at a huge event...ofcourse they just entered the club for maybe 30-40 seconds and imidiately run out. It was funny

My mother can stand the music but not for too long. The most amazing thing is that she watched some dvd's from boom and samothraki dance and she stood there in front of the screen ecstatic and amazed from the outcome of these parties...
my father is wondering when i will actually appreciate ''real'' music and develop some 'taste'...

My mom and dad hate it , i think they hate music in general.
But my grandmother , well she likes trance. We enjoy oldschool Goa trance and ambient together.

Christmas

My mother (which I don't have a close relationship with) didn't even like the "Shpongle - Tales of the inexpressible" album I gave her
(I should have known, but I had hopes you know)
.. She likes Celine Dion ect ect. Doesnt understand much, poor woman.

My uncle who is a great person LOVED the Ott - Blumenkraft album I gave him. Now he wants to know more about this music

People who don't "like" music in general are a strange phenomenon. ..
Your GM doesn’t get tired of the dunk dunk of trance? She sounds sweet =)

my mom used to think every track sounded the same.. boom boom boom boom...she was like.."don't the songs ever change? how can you keep listening to the same song over and over?? turn that off, you're gonna go crazy"
but that was with full on... now that I'm more into prog I've played her some sweeter tunes and she actually enjoys 'em and has even learned some names... hehe actually only 2 ticon and antix...but hey, that's a starter!
she really likes ambient and chill stuff though and asks me to play some of the "slower music" when I visit           A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory.
