Parents reaction to Psy Trance?

my mom was deep in that hippie stuff back in the 60ies and she still is like that. so she also quite likes psy (and techno and hardrock...), especially cosmoon and space tribe stuff. she also looks much more psy than i do, it's quite funny!!

hmmmm..... my dad likes Shpongle... he always said that it's the future of Vangelis..... hmmmm, I can't agree, because I'm a big fan from Vangelis too, different music from different times....
He also likes another Ambient/Chill out tunes.....
My mom didn't say nothing.... she listen to them in the car with me and didn't say one word, but sometimes she likes more melodic stuff from Progressive Trance scene, like Gouryella, Tiesto, etc...
but like many people here in Brazil, they like another kinds of music, like "Sertanejo" (it's like a brazilian country music) and romanthic/pop songs.... 
The only thing that they are always saying is that I have to study more.... hehehe

my psrents hate it.. hate trance, hate everything that is related to trance.. but it s my life, not theirs!
i m old enough to do what i want .. but i think we have to show, nto for parents, for everybody that ppl that like trance is not only ppl without a "future"
the thing is... nothing is too serious to be taken too serious ehehe |

I think my parents would like ambient and chill out music but they don't even give it a chance.
my sister is making fun of trance tho... everytime we speak of something related to music she says: well, at least its better then your lame music... always the same

Well , my mom dont care . dont say a thing , but my dad always told me " i wish your sound system explode and burn .if you have this problem fix it like i did , put some full on cd in the stereo , press pause , take the remote , call your dad in the room , intrest him in reading something in the computer or something , then get out the room , lock it . press play ! now , in the first 10 minutes he/she will scream and kick the door , when you hear they stopped , wait 2 more minutes and go in , you will be amazed like i did to see him/her digging like in a naure party .

my friend gave to grandmother to listen "tromesa - o wig weg" // She is such a kind of woman that listen to some music like classical and sometimes jazz.. You know she was listening very attentivly and said that she "tripped" to the world (WW2) when war began in Sank-peterburg (where she was when young)

ahaiuhaiuah very good topic...
My parents say psychedelic trance is for mad people, my mom stay hysteric when i put a infected mushroom at the top volume... she says that hallucinates her, that is horrible...
"My son, why do u like this kind of music"
and then i say
"cos this simply r00lz the world mom!"
euiheiuhe very funny i think there are not plenty of fathers like Raja Ram or Goa Gil ueheuhuhe

Hehehe... Yes great topic..... 
My parents, really dont mind.. Not even when i stay up all night producing trax... They are quite open towards the music... They listen to stuff like Bob dylan and those guys...
Only thing they said when i started going to those parties was, that i should look out for drukqz and such, because everybody at those kinds of parties had to be on drukqz, to be able to listen to that kind of music all night.. hehe...
But my father often helps me when producing trax... He has a great ear for such...

hehe good one!
My father once came to my house and (i was tripping on top volume bamboo forest) he got confused if i was listen to music or if some new house was being built up on the neighbourhood 
My mother doesn't say anything, no opinions to express, she keeps only tapping her foot on the ground....but she would do it with techno or house too...
It is kinda hard for them to understand what goes on trance.

what my parents think of psy-trance? well, all non-commercial electronic music (including techno, hardcore, trance) is music for drug-addicted.
and anything related to psy-trance (parties, friends, communities) is just a sub-culture of drug addiction.
but then, I'm in Italy, and over here that is the interpretation one can find on all media and news. They are constantly relating parties and drugs.
So, no wonder my parents share those thoughts. Not their fault, after all... Just annoying for me, any time I turn the music on or I go to a party.

seriously, my father cant stand the 4/4 beat its too noisy for his ears and too boring , my mother too .. Why do you need all this bass my father says... turn it off ...
a bizzare notice.. three years ago i put loud mahadeva by astral projection and my mother like it much .. (she said to me that the main melodies are similar to traditional cretan music..)
ps : both my parents love traditional music from crete..

my parents don't have a problem with what i listen to but still their ears can not really accept it...
what they do care and comment on are the psy festivals which they concider as drug addicts gathering events...why?-because, my parents say, there are many people*(drug addicts?!)that smoke marijuana on those events and those people have no futures...u have to take some drugs in order to survive...
primitive but kinda logical opinions ha:)
i'd just say they are victims of the conventional world
