hi averybody, every day we are discovering another artist and another styles and sub sub genres, for example...full-on.

some new styles and sound elements are set to a new edge, most of them the MELODIC full-on [which i really like]...for another example - psydrop, space buddha, astrix etc.

THE QUESTION IS...
is it new ?
can u find these styles and elements such as the sound and musicality and the old school style called GOA ???

is it that all this gr8 music called "full-on\maximal" is just an evolution of this old man called "GOA" ????, the melodies , the percautions , the bassline.

well i think it is, clues like "nomad","space buddha","gms"[sometimes] and more like it make me almost sure it is evolution indeed.

so what do u say ?
evolution or not ?
where the influence for these new styles came from ?, goa ?

Adunno, full-on had a real connection to goa in it's earlier days, but it grew apart. Even the more goa influenced acts that use great goa melodies (Psysex for example, but definately not Nomad or Psydrop) are still very far from the goa form of energy. Those rolling basslines are not a proper replacement for a groovy 303 drive, they're a simplification of that concept.

I'd call it devolution except that the production is much better nowadays.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

Basslines are a nice thing, but seriously, they shouldn't be exclusive of groove. Sub6, Bamboo Forest and GBU are all good examples of what happens to full-on when you add a bit of groove to the bassline, and isn't it so fun?           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

The bad thing is that the bassline became the center element of the track.
Ok, bassline is important - but to a limit...

if one is into basslines then full on is definetly the wrong genre to be attracted to..           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

there's just so much more to basslines than

"note, note, note, lower note,
note, note, note, higher note,
note, note, note, lower note,
note, note, note, higher note,"

basicly the above thingy is the formulatic full on bassline that can be found from 99% of fool on tunes..          "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

the basslines was something interesting in the first 10 or 20 tracks released...
but then it's just annoying - only hearing the full on bass makes me sick .
you know people say and sorry for my english:
something is good when it comes a little - and the meaning is - it is nice to hear full on basses but the same ones changed a bit in every track

somebody talked about percussion in full on - i dont know if you listened some other genres of music.take for example progressive trance - in progg. you can hear groove
if you wanna listen really groove - make it to techno and all his sub-genres(hardstyle,detroit so on...)

It's not evolution and not devolution - in the last maybe 1 or 2 years full on didnt change a "lot".
But it's a matter of taste.

Peace

Yes all this sub genres are really great but have absolutely no relation to what is called Tech Trance or Progresive Trance which bassline is even less sophisticated than the full on ones, i mean how much groovy can you get with k b k b....?
Don't get me wrong, i like progressive but when it comes to groove and bassline i prefer fool on anyday.
It's not about the basslines it's about how you use it
PS Even Ticon, the kings of scando trance have in their last albums a lot of tracks with rolling full onish bassline and the tunes sound blast.
Let there be fusion!
