About small amount to pay on internet (like to buy an newspaper article or something like that), do you know Kertel is developping a system allowing customer to pay with prepaid phone cards ?
So no more big security problems with credit card number and big commisions. |

Labels should try to get in a dialog somehow to develop some kind of proffesional organisation, tough task but for the better when accomplished for sure...

Cedric, i suggest something along the lines of what you already think is a good idea.
take Nano Records UK for example:
when u purchase a cd, you can insert it to the computer and with a serial # thats only available on the inside of the cd, one can access restricted areas and receive bonuses.
ie. - download videos, hear bonus tracks, etc...
this is something that's being done already and so it can be improved and developed. the label must deflate the mp3 balloon by inflating the cd in any way. make it so much more attractive, invest in good artwork, better steadier cd cases, and ofcourse quality music.
i think at this point of technology this is the best way, considering costs of other things brought up here is very astronomical to execute for any new label.

my goal ?
basicly , it was to talk about the fact that we are starting a new label.....then , as you saw , it turned to this discussion because it is a fact that all the labels are dying because of this...as i said upper , i don t think it is because of the download staf , mp 3is still or bad quality , or big files to download in a high quality....but to be abble to copy cds is the real problem....now , i don t have any miracle solution , every idea that was said got also a bad point , and because i am from "the other side" , i thought it was good to be abble to speak with people and explain them first of all why their ideas are not possible , but also , why not , to find a solution to this problem....
Reduce mp3 trading as i explained before is almost impossible , and because i personnaly download a lot of staf too ( not music , but in the end it is the same....)i know that it is not the solution........
Sell more ??? well , of course!!!I open a company , the goal is of course to sell the maximum!!!there is no shame to say it....but if i could find a way , a "combina" for it , i would be happy......i prefer to sell 20000 cds at 4 euros (we speak here about the price to the distribution companies!) than 10000 at 8 euros....this is almost the same in the end (except the price of the cost to make the cds...)but it is netter for the label , for the artists , for the people and for the trance scene.....just i don t know how to do this without "fucking" the other labels , without "fucking" the other distribution companies , and by staying friend with everyone.........do you realise how hard it is ???
So i would say to resume that my goal is just to make a new label with good music , and to make it work by a way or another....i am now for more than 10 years in this little trance world , and i saw by my eyes already how unprofessional it is , (not everybody , don t missunderstand me!)and if we have a place to communicate with each others , it is better to use it this way instead of bullshiting against everybody like it is too often done here....
anyway , we'll keep making , you ll keep dancing!!!

oups...gadi , we'll speak soon....but yes , i eard about nano records , about what they are doing , i am in contact with them as well....this is for now the best idea , but again , once the track is dowloaded , it will be free anywhere else.....this is nice and i will do it anyway , but this will not reduce the price of the cd in the shop..... |

last thing...i say upper some numbers...10000 cds at 8 euros..........i don t want everybody to believe that this is a regular trance sell....i think now every label would dream about 10000 cds in the world.......it was just to make it easy to understand. |

one of your problems and u metntioned it...friends...u dont see friends around producers and mtv gangsta rappers...cause it sbuisness
and if it will become like it in trance...trance will sell alot more cause because of the competition the level will rise up
so u should also think that by doing good to others with your release..u do bad to u and not sure others do good as much as your bad to equal it
hope im understood
i take myself for an example i know that astral projection music excites me..ill buy their album no matter what..but some unkown artist who from nowhere...well the chance to hear is music is on the net!!!then i must download it to see if it is a cd nto to be forgotten...most of the time u know the answer!!!
and another big problem i state here regulary in my posts haha and no one seems to notice somehow
distrbution!!!i wanted to buy cds and i couldnt find...net stores is not the ultimate solution not every likes to buy there feel unsafe!!!
i thing the first thing "Trance labels kartel" hahaah should do is to ask some professional company to investigate how much money trance industry lose out of "bad distrbution" a year

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Here are 3 things that labels should consider in order to generate more sales. Basically it involves making the product into something more tangible than "just" a disc with some tunes on it:
1) Artwork and packaging. Stickers. booklets of artwork.
2) Embrace new technology - eg DVD-audio - produce a bonus DVD-audio disc with 5.1 surround sound mixes, bonus tracks and bonus mixes
3) Other bonus material such as animation and video-art on a DVD-video or MPEG CD / VCD |

Joeking: nice ideas but the time is not here right now. Not everybody can do 24bit 96khz music, also not in surround. To make animations take time and money as well as the costs fo a dvd are much higher than cds and we also want to lower the prices.

lets say u have all this and your a label
and lets say im a label selling the ussual full on meldic touches u know the one that crowd likess!
u have all this hi tech shit and quality and have shit dsitrbutiion like most labels have because they are not big enough but necause i can produce album that convince distrnutions will sell more(the crowd test!)ill get better distrbution
who u think will win in the final test of selling amount?
dont u understand how much this thing important?itss all about reaching your cliants not making your reached people cliants
(all my opinion with some facts i know about industry and sell rates of things ahhaha ) |

Yeah , today a trance label dont live , but survive,
its very difficult to open a label ,
if you sell , let say, 3000 cds,in the world, you will be sure that in the black market will sell the same even for sure , more and in different country, so ,calculate,
Its not so easy to put a lot of money in the fabrication {to make] of cds |
