After six years of collaboration with 3d vision , nomad and myself are now starting a new label called « Mind Control »…
The reason why we stopped 3d vision is much more simple than all the rumors I could ear recently...it is just that christof went to live in ibiza , and as far as we stayed me and mael in Paris , we decided all together that it was better to make another label from france , while christof will run 3d vision from spain , and to collaborate with each others ...3d vision will of course keep the line that we made years to create , and Mind control will have a more “melodic” spirit....but of course , we’ll keep the full-on!!!!
The first cd will logically be my 4th album of Talamasca , called “Made in Trance” and expected for june...containing 9 tracks , and including 5 collaboration tracks that I’ve made with other french artists , one that you don’t need to be introduced with , I speak here about nomad , and 4 other new french artists who will certainly be the new french scene of tomorrow...Life extension , Audio brain , Schyzotrop , and Neshama .
As any other label we are also very interested to be in contact with new talents from everywhere , to release new names...(but we promise here to keep the quality we reached with 3d vision in our choices!!!) and demos will always be welcome....
Beside this , we are looking for some graphic designer , to make a web-site...i am sure around here there are a lot....if you are interested , you can leave me a private message here , i swear that from now i will read them... 
Ok , to finish , if you have any suggestions about what you expect from a new label , or what we can do to make you stop downloading the music , or even to write what would be the cd of your dream , just reply........

well , thanks for the support....but instead of just reading those replies , i want to use the opportunity that this forum give us to communicate with you....i know that most of the people here are "involved" in the trance scene , as promoters or artists...anyway , most of you here are on the guest lists of parties......as i say all the time , whatever you think of it , never trust the guest list...so here i would like to speak with the people who pay to come to parties.....and i would like to know if they realise that copying music , as it was written on many other topics , kills the scene....i don t want to act like if i was clear myself , i personnaly download movies or plugins , so i understand that if it is free somewhere , why to buy??? but behind this problem , many little labels are dying , and my goal with this new label is to find a solution that everybody would be happy.....we thought with all our friends to break the market , to sell the cds cheaper , but as long as the distribution companies will sell the cds to the shops , even if we give them they will sell it the normal price...and if they are fair and make it cheaper , then it is the shops who will sell it the "normal" price....so what is the solution????everybody says that if the music was cheaper they would buy it instead of downloading it.....would you????and what is cheap enough for you???If we were making a new internet site with music that you can download for 1 dollar each track , would it be cheap enough???????or would you also try to get the tracks by another way???and last question , i said i understand the people who download the music , which is true......but why to upload it ????????????????
Anyway , i just want to find a solution to this problem...i think the market has to be changed , I don t understand why my album would be the same price than Madonna album!!!But if we make it cheaper , by a way or another , ( and believe me i don 't know how !!! ) would you really stop downloading???
If you have any idea about how to change the market , your answer here is more than welcome , and if it is a good idea , i can even say that many label "managers" will come to read..........

I wish you all the best with your new label Cedric and really hope you'll find the golden solution that no one have found yet. I know I am sceptic but until people's minds change I seriously doubt that the majority of people will pay anything as long as they can get it for free from friends and on the ftp's.
I agree that the market have to change and that we don't need the high prices from the shops and distributors. But things are not that simple or "black & white".
We also need professional label people (and deffinently more professional minded artists) that know how to sell, promote and release quality music. There's way too many amatures (bedroom labels) out there that dont know the first thing about how to run a business and to promote and sell music. They do much more harm than good in my opinion because they need to release as much crap as possible to keep the money flowing = quantity over quality. And when quantity rules it attract less skilled copycat artists. No offense but where does it say that it have to be easy to release music in our scene? Today everybody can become an artist over night without any knowledge about music or without any talent whatsoever.
We need a combination of labels that have enough backing of money and professional knowledge. And labels/artists that are willing to less quantity but more quality releases backed up by prober promotion tools (finances and knowledge).
And last but not least we need a change of mind (attitude) from the consumers so they start to pay for the music even when it get as cheap as 1 dollar per track. |

cedric , you are one of the best , so everybody here knows that from know , Mind control will be a quality label...i wish you all the best for this...
about what you are asking , i am personnaly ready to buy music , like many people here...but i bought too many shitty cds in the past to just trust the cover or the names on it...i need to listen to it before to buy it and not all the shops do a pre-listening...
and about your 1 dollar track idea , it is good...not new but good idea...maybe even make some catalog and people can choose a full cd ...
