this is a NON-POLITICAL thread
i guess you all know what i'm talking about:
almost every time that i read a party review made by an Israeli, there is a good chance i'll come accross some comments like: "more then half of ppl there were shimonim & lazy arabs", "the last thing that we want is arabs", "This party had a potential..beautiful location, well builet lineup, turbo sound..
but something went wrong..lots of arabs came in.."
(if u don't believe me, just check out some of the threads of parties in Israel)

my question is: why don't u see that this is nothing but RACISM? what if someone from Portugal will say : "the Boom festival was good, but there were too many Israelis there", i'm sure most of u will accuse him in racism.
so, please, think of it and understand that eventually thoes remarks will hurt us Israelis. and if u don't see my point, just refresh your memory with the "Israelis in India" thread.

i agree with you matan that we should all try to be a little more politicly correct here.if we think something it doesent mean we have to write it down.esp.not on an english internetional forum.

but(there's always a but)

ive seen it and heard too many storyes lately about hard violence in parties.orgenizers threatend with knives, stubings and other crazy shit. and you know what the description of the ppl that do this shit is always the same kind of what u just wrote on your post.

so somehow i have the feeling that if some "dude" will put a knife on your neck at a party theres a good chance you will stop being so politicly correct.

just a thought.

I donno, as one who comes from the definitve shimonim city (Ramle ) i believe i am qualified to use this word. Let's though draw a line and mark who is considered Shimon and who is considered to be a part of the "Beatiful People". For me it's no problem cause most of my closest friends are not Shimons although come from the Middle Eastern families but NOT carrying knives to parties, NOT selling or using balloons, not shouting at the Dj when he puts a tune that they don't like and certainly and most importantly and under no circumstances wear the "aba make" shirt. Unless it's in home and under supervision.
When i say or mention the shimon word i usually refer to people that are fitting the description i mentioned above.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

this is not a post about arsim, because arsim is not an ethnic descent, it's an expression that can be attached to ANYONE who fits pavel description.
so basically u can be american ars, spanish ars, arab ars, israeli ars, etc. hope u know what i mean.

I guess youre right with the racism, but perhaps its just bothering people, since you dont live in Israel, and some people hate arabs to death, not everyone, but some.. Just like some of them dont like us, its just how things going on around here..
Though you said that this thread is non-political, you cant avoid it, its all about the politice....

Anyhow, perhaps youre right, lets wait to see what other people got to comment..

I know one person in this forum that's been accused many many times of being a racist and anti-semitist because he raised the exact same point as you do now.

I hope this can be a calm and educating debate for all those that point fingers at non isralies and brand them as anti-semitistic when they raise such topics as this one and then go to the party reviews forum and express racist views there.

No one are prerfect but at the end of the day the face of RACISM is ugly.

matan thats not completely true.
the fact people are disappointed of shimons and arabs is according to their past behaviour .
usually as seen in the past they caused many problems
i was in a party in jerusalem with rinkadink where arabs took over the party, throwed azax syndrom case on the floor, beat up people , took whatever they wanted from the bar and beat the hell of some guy. i was so close to this i am traumatized..
last party i was last weekend there were 90% shimons and arabs and guess what? there was another stabbing ! (in the neck!) which luckily was only serious injure and not DEATH .
i donno if this guy would have died i think it could have traumatized many people , i think i'd stop go to trance parties if i saw someone dying infront of me in a party.
i dont have problems with shimons who only came to party and behave themselves like anyone else, but some of them give REAL bad reputation which ruins to the others .

I myself and i think most others will agree, have no problem with arabs in parties as long as they came for the right reasons: to party, dance, have a good time, listen to the music, enjoy etc.
But most of the times you get these guys who come to ruin the vibe, start fights, steal, sell balloons, etc and most of the times these guys happen to be arabs... and thats the problem.
So theres not much love and plur to them unfortunatley... although its not always fair or right.
Dressed to kill you look so right... I am drunk with lust tonite.
