Mike A, if you're so uninterested in new music, why don't you buy more old albums? You said 90% of your albums are older than 2001, but i'm sure you haven't them all (the good ones of course)... Try buying albums from between 1995 and 1998.
Hey that's what i do, for every new album i get two old ones, most of them from that period

Trip- ..... i am not much into rock.....actually, experimental electronic music is my passion....but i think its a bit strange that no (still for example) rock, hiphop what ever fan complains about music being repetive and over used. and i dont put those fans under our limit, in intelligence or what ever.
hope u got me right....peace out

and to the progressive discussion...... i dont think the possibilities in progressive/minimal morning music are reached.....there are much more possibilities in this music....i'm working on it hahaha ;-()

It's all the same!!! Same 303, same TR909 kick drum. Oh wait what is it? SH101? and this? Again Sci fi sample?
And then i gave listen to some rock cds. Some Korn, some Mercury Rev and i thought...
Damn!!! Not guitars again. Wow they really overused it this time.

The standard in this forum is starting to suffer seriously.....

I will be the first to say that I am dead tired of full-on, psytrance and goa..... I have already heard GMS, 3D Vision Vers. 2000 ect. ect. and there's nothing new under the sun there for me anymore..... BUT in my book Mike have all the right to express his anger, frustration or whatever he's feeling in a forum like this.... It's a free world (or so I hope - let's see how free the moderators are). And remember that it's a forum for many genres - NOT only full-on !!!!! So yes you can disagree and think that Mike is a lunatic but in the end it's your problem NOT his........

To mike:

There's so much more to this world than full-on..... Look around you and you will see that fresh ideas, crativity and experimentation is very much alive and kicking in other "new" genres.......

and somthing other... about 4-5 years ago.
I was also tierd of the styl was playing then... and in these times, it was not so much diffrent Labels/Artist etc as now are...
So, i think, try somthing new (like Free-Jazz or wathever... <-- your choise) or you have to search more 4 the realesed wath you like, i belive there are very much releases with good ideas in your taste...

i haven't read the whole posts here, what i have to say is:

i have that feeling too mike, things changing, i too remember those times when i was runing to shops and happilly buying some cd's (i have more then 150 of them). now when i talk to some get-every-release-without-hearing maniacs i can't understand them, it's like drugs for them. when i say that i'm hearing now some Transwave or Miranda, they even don't know this names.

the full-on now controls the main direction of trance, i think sooner or later it will be some other one, there is always one main direction.

but how i survive in this situation? my mind is open to different electronic music directions. i listen to psytrance, minimal, progressive, club, ambient, chillout, breakbeat, jazz, and any other great stuff.

i bought tim shuldt's and younger brother's latest albums. check the sun project and their side projects, it's cool funky stuff. also joujouka's "new asians" album (can't find that one in shops here), eat static,
and i discovered oszilla with their progressive morning tunes.

other thing helping me is to produce music, i remember u do it too, express yourself there, what u think is missing - complete it in your creations.

just dig mike.

I think Mike and Kaz, made some really good points I went through my record collection and it made me realise that yeah full on is getting very repeditive, this isn't to say full on is no good anymore but something has to give, I think Talamuska is a good example he is a great musician and I LOVED his first 2 albums and his sets fuckin rock but as of lately his tracks have lacked substance (IMO). Maybe its because more is expected of him now he is a house-hold name (in the trance community). Music is like a tug of war once a genre makes it big it is pulled for everything its worth, until the next big genre is created then the rope is pulled in a different direction have patience Mike new styles will be here sooner rather than later. P.S Kaz u should be a lawyer or something i've noticed in many posts how well u can argue your point! Peace Out           Progressive, Full-on? Its all good <;}

Yeeees!!! Someone really cares!!!
I'm with you Mike!
Trance doesn't need REASONs, it needs time, and it will RESIST time as it allways did!!!
Don't be so angry.
Love the good ones, and let love teach the bad ones... they're just trying to be like the good guys!
They have much to learn, and they think they can do it fast... Not too wise...
Relax. Breathe. Smile. Have another pizza. Smile again!

Blah......

I think may be you should be angry at more inportant things in the world than trance music .

I always see people commenting about my age...
Well I'm with trance since 1998 maybe?
And I have records in my house dating as back as 1994. I think I got the timeframe of trance...

I think "Mike A" had a very valid point...

I'm glad he had the courage to speak out, after all this topic needed to be voiced. And the reply to him shows it....
