nobody like it mike. the "progressive club music" in fact include more artists than trance scene and they r not less boring and repeatetive.. its hard to find good tunes, but its more fun to get something worth from the sea of shit.           Believe your soul !

I'm sick of these kinds of topics...what annoys me most here is the fact that Mike is an Isratrance member...Mike, I don't know how you can put yourself in such a position, I'm guessing you work a lot on this site...and to hear such words from someone that is a site member is not ok at all...If you are really fed up with trance music then why work on a trance site?...I don't want to offend you but it just doesn't give a good image to the site           DJ Dovla | Interchill Records, Flow Records

He's not fed up with psytrance - he's fed up with the fact that there are so few musically original tracks. And as someone who has been listening to psytrance for quite a while myself, I agree with him. I don't think people should settle for more of the same. And that's what most people are doing now.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

Lucid_Dream: I love progressive, but I agree with Mike here. I like some full-on tracks, and I still agree with mike. I like some techtrance as well, and guess what, I still agree with Mike. He wasn't saying "I don't like trance music", he's saying there's something wrong in the scene, and it shows through a lot of the music that's released, and if you'd read a lot of previous threads - people from big labels (including Spirit Zone), and major artists agree that there is something wrong here.

About my work in the New Tracks forum, that doesn't have anything to do with this conversation, the fact is that people think that it helps them, and I'm always glad to help. I will never be the new Simon Posford, and I don't want to be. Just like the fact that Mike is on the Isratrance team has nothing to do with this. THIS IS NOT A PERSONAL TASTE DISCUSSION. This is about stating what he seems to be a phenomena in the scene, and in case you didn't notice - there are more than a few similarities between most tracks in each genre. And that's something that's rather new in the trance scene (it's been growing for years, the bigger the scene, the bigger the problem). And if Mike was fed up with progressive, why would he turn to progressive house and not to full-on? Prog-house tends to be even more progressive than progressive trance from a sheer structural point of view.

I still love trance, but I'm part of a growing group of people that's used to getting more than just another release in the same style, and are pretty upset about the scarcity of those releases which make us go 'wow'.          http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

kaz I agree with you to some point...but...Mike wasn't just saying how some things are wrong...he also said...and I quote:

Quote:
I've lost my faith in psychedelic trance. Now, if you may excuse me, I'm off to hear some emotional progressive club trance.

No matter what the situation may be on the scene, who likes what style or who makes good music and who makes bad...this kind of post coming from a member of a trance site simply doesn't look good at all in my book...           DJ Dovla | Interchill Records, Flow Records

Again people do not understand me.
I didn't say I like trance music. I love it. Both Full-On and progressive and goa and whatever. I listen to it all the time.
What I meant is that I lost faith in new music. All new music is the same formulated repetitive full-on. Like I said in my post - most of my music is 2001 and earlier.

Dovla - my opinion represents me and myself only. Maybe kaz as well It has nothing to do with me being an Isratrance Member or to Isratrance.

About the club trance issue - it's new to me and I've yet heard the "everything is the same" phenomenon. Every track is different with it's own ideas. So I'm not really sure what you're talking about

I think Mike should lock his own post now... nothing too add anymore other than "I think he meant this" or "He meant that". Taste should not be a discussion here...

I must disagree on some point.
Yes there are a lot of artists nowadays that immitate each other, but you know what?
I gave a listen to some of my classic goa collection and guess what i found?
It's all the same!!! Same 303, same TR909 kick drum. Oh wait what is it? SH101? and this? Again Sci fi sample?
And then i gave listen to some rock cds. Some Korn, some Mercury Rev and i thought...
Damn!!! Not guitars again. Wow they really overused it this time.
Sorry for my cynicism, but i think you migth miss the point of the Trance music. It's a music to go wild, to dance, you know shit like this, not analyzing it to the atom level. God, just enjoy the music.
And i should get some rest           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

... Wave after wave after wave after wave...
I never told anybody, but this... topic is making me find some full on albums really repetitive. It must be some kind of sugestion or whatever, but I guess I understood what our friend Mike is telling us: full on is guetting repetive and repetitive means predicable and predicable may mean "not so psychedelic".
It's getting less psychedelic proportionally to more repetitive.
Respect!
