I was wondering why mixed cds do not have the same exposure like the other scenes of electronic music. Is this because the fact that most of the consumers are djs who would rather have the cd not mixed. Also what are the average sales of mixed cds, are they well below the average sales of other unmixed trance cds? hope someone can clear this up. thanx

because mixing in trance isn't that much involved like in techno or house, it's more about making a good story and you can do that without mixing           DJ Dovla | Interchill Records, Flow Records

Both techno and (club)trance have large focus on the DJ. And psytrance have more focus on the artists, imho. Any idea why it is this way?           Ut ameris, amabilis esto.

because techno tracks are much more simpler and sound too boring when played by themselves...a techno dj can mix two techno tracks and play them at the same time for a long while and they will sound great together, while trance has much more sounds and playing two tracks at the same time would sound like random generated noise and wouldn't blend at all...trance has more involvement in the production phase and less in the playing phase while techno is vice versa          DJ Dovla | Interchill Records, Flow Records

I gotta disagree with you again.

A good dj can mix any style - psytrance, dub, techno, house - whatever.

Just needs to be done in the right way.

I won't buy mixed cd's, I want to hear a track from the beginning to the end without any other tracks coming through
