The 'high horse' comment was not only regarding this thread but every other fucking thread you post. Yes, we get it, ocelot has a big problem with high bpm! Stop pushing your judgment.           .............................................

Crazy Astronaut - high BPM, plenty of melody and quite original with lots of influence from DnB if you listen properly.

Again, Insector has tons of variation & tone/melody in his music.

I think Ocelot you really need to get over this.

Seriously, if you cannot find anything better to do as an artist than come on here every few months to years and hang shit on everyone that doesn't agree or worship you then maye you while find a different scene to produce in??

A lot of the crap you spill is about as original and exciting as Deadmau5 crap so maybe move over to electro house & bro step?

You seem to have the attitude and personality of the ppl I know I that scene from producers to promoters to punters.

You'd fit right in.

You might make a bit of cash as well, and you really don't need talent beyond sculpting sample in Ableton like Skrillex. Hey you can just use a pair of Beats by Dre. Budget production and insta-fame!!           Cuntus Maximus.

I think this is an exception when it comes to psytrance music on high bpm's that has a strong musical content and belongs not to the brigade that creates their tracks just with random effects and noises and maybe, sometime but rather rarely with one simple melo. Compare it to those 160+ bpm tracks of nowadays and feel the difference. Really like this track! The Juno track is also something rather more original and out of any context of todays hightechers

Plenty of slower tracks without great melodies as well. And, outstanding tracks-melodic or not-are rare in any style imo.           http://soundcloud.com/herbert-quain

and this "thinking sound" guy should go into marketing... for monsanto...

okay i will play along : now that i work for monsanto i would like to market our number one selling "GMO" product, Ocelot. Not only is he our best "GMO" but he is fill with an extra additive of butthurt to make in more realistic. if you already have a psychedelic soup made then Ocelot is a real good cheese to add if your going to a house rave, its third chakra music and by adding some MDMA you have booty music. With countless testing at house raves when "we" played his music at such events, none of the house music kids noticed the difference. We agree that his words are the opposite of what his music is trying to promote but keep in mind that this guy has limited neurons. he uses profanity and name calling, we wish he would pretend he was 39 years when he spoke or get back on his medication for his bipolar issues. We have encouraged him to attempt to produce faster music in hopes to awaken him.

seriously, it's a pissing contest.
period.

if you don't know what the phrase "pissing contest" means then look it up.

no if's ands or buts, PISSING CONTEST.
IT IS. 100%. objectively empirically speaking- it' is a CONTEST whereby MORE BPM= better to some people...

and my question is:
DO YOU THINK THIS PISSING CONTEST CAN GO ON INDEFINATELY??????? huh huh?

You keep projecting that its a pissing contest, apparently you know a lot about pissing contest. So if your correct then you must be upset since you cant even write an entry level track at 170bpm. If it were a pissing contest, then it will end at 1000bpm, then at that time, you could pull your little peter out a piss some chillout for the contestants to rest too or even twerk with .

do you think the next next generation will still be trying to compete at this pissing contest?
i'm pretty sure it just becomes a constant note above 350bpm or so... i couldn't get a distinct kick any faster than 300 something as it started to sound like a delay/mushy sound....

hmmmm! a progressive artist attempting to do 300-350bpm doesn't make sense, you lack the technology within the mental unit to do it correctly and why are you aiming for that range? Be more reasonable and try a 200bpm track and let us see if you have the artistic abilities.. 200bpm sounds like my pussycat when it purrs, love it so much and its great when its done correctly but ocelot its above your pay scale at the moment. keep working at it, with your musical skills you might learn something and actually produce a dance worthy track.

and someone said I was on a high horse?

hello arrogant little cunt: show me your "superior" artists that are making mere mortals obsolete...

Dude! you project just a little too much. if you can, try to redirect this issue you have back into your music then that way your music sounds better. while you at it, try writing a 200bpm of good quality. just project to yourself that you have musical talent and your psychedelic. looking forward to hearing it when you figure out how to do it.

1) how fast do you really think this will continue to go?

As I see it, based on the history of other types of music, this high speed thing is either a trend that will go away (dissipate) or it will have the momentum to establish itself as an entirely new and separate genre either within psytrance or without. Kind of like how speed metal took off on its own, a product of metal gone extreme in speed and intensity. Or gangster rap, from hip hop. It took off on its own. A new genre of was created. So this high bpm stuff seems to be separating itself from psytrance as we know it and doing its own thing. At some point you have to accept that that's just how it's evolving and what its evolving to and forget about it or, if you're into it or as a producer, want to be there with it, then start making it. It's not a pissing contest, it's pushing its way into its own territory, regardless of the intent.

I personally want to hear you make acoustic music. Guitar or piano and your own voice. You've got a genuineness and the musical talent to write some good songs.
