yes vegetal i agree with you but i do not agree with some people here who think that playing a dj set is better! Also i look at the music today and really there are no money coming from cd's for an artist to live on so they make live act, i agree to this also because the artist after all his work for producing such an album then gets to play it himself to the people he gets money for it and he can live and make more music! You get the free mp3's from the internet now at least let's here them live!

I much prefer to see live acts that are 'alive'. I find that the whole 'living', 'breathing' element really helps artists when playing a live set.

If they are dead when they are playing, always demand your money back.

A real good live set is very much connected to the crowd vibes. Obviously it will not contain a fully predevelopped playlist, but will be a bit more improvised and on the fly, while having most of the maerial already ready. Ableton will certainly help the issue.           Load Universe into Cannon. Aim at Brain. Fire.

Live is dead!

It's a great pity that nowadays, with all the interest of people in seeing/earing the composers live, with all the technology (PC also, they're not just sequencers!), good composers don't create live setups to perform live and follow the mood of the night.. I think most of them prefer the simple secure way of live PA or whatever, prerecording it and knobing around just for visual fun!

I long wait for the crashes, errors and beautiful live creations of real live-acts, instrument-played or live-created with machinery.. for me, in a real live-act, there must be a LOT of sounds from the actors (:)) or the full ability to hold parts, twist them and recreate them from moment feeling.

I really miss lives like at my first psy party, Boom 2000, full of noisy/breaking parts, but full of avalanche-like ideas and special moments! that's what trance is all about for me, and the dj'ing can achieve that to, if the dj is very good.

We are missing real live tweakers! that's the challenge for the next acts, I think.

No more fake-tweaking! that's pure desrespect for me.. better to dance to your prerecorded set (not bad if assumed as option) than to try to look like the perfect wizard

Has Ableton Live been mentioned? I know our home boy Protoculture uses it, he produces different versions of his tracks live (ie glastonbury 'glade' version of Magnetic) so if you are familiar with the artists work, to catch improvisations and (live?) re-edits is a treat.

PC's and software are really quite reliable now, seldom crashes to worry about and there always is a backup cd track ready

I don't care if its live performance or Dj set. I just don't like to discover at the party who is what?
