The headliner at psymbolic part 2 pushed the monitors so hard they overheated and cut out. The monitors were turned up almost as loud as the main speakers so when they cut out the people on the dance floor really noticed it.

This guy must have had no hearing at all, considering how loud he had the monitors up! Haha, the sound guy kept telling him to turn the monitors down and he wouldn't listen, then complained when they overheated and cut out. None of the other DJs had a problem!

i hate it when i dj's before me play in the red zone

most of the times it's like this and totally maxed out too, which is really a problem for me because i care about the volume of the track i am mixing !!!

i think it's disrespectfull to other dj's and also to the owners of the equipment           Ain-Soph (Trancebum Productions / Freakdance Records)

what i really hate is that fat peoples clothes cost the same as smaller sizes. Why do we have to compensate for the extra material to cover their fat arse?

Pioneer DJM 600s have excellent compression. You can run up to 2 reds on the master without it clipping.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

I hate it period, when dj's go into the red. However, since there is usually a limiter, when I come on I just turn it down to the level where it should be, and the crowd always thanked me for it.

Dj's who go into the red should be banned.
Forever! Or at least until they wow to never do it again.
As mentioned above, it is disrespectful to the other artists, the PA and to the crowd...

And the compression or rather over-compression makes it sound boring, no dynamic range whatsoever...           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

What I don't understand is... when you're in the red, the meters are useless! If you look at a DJM-600s meters, they are most precise around 0, way up high they become less precise, so if you are pushing the red then you cannot use the meters to match levels.

I don't think you can hear a decrease in sound quality between someone playing at 0db the and +2db on a DJM 600 over a large sound system.

I wear earplugs most of the time anyway so it doesn't bother me.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound
