naw man, hippies and sunscreen would just be another day in Venice (ok, plus the scent of surf wax and gangsta's cologne).

It was Onnomon that made the moment.

Ok so here's another rainless weekend rolling by with no outdoor party. but somehow we lived through it, filling the days and nights with music.
Yesterday I hung out in Venice listening to Onnomon - really appreciating how perfect it fit with the air, the hazy sunshine and the smell of hippies and sunscreen. Which led me to thinking about my ultimate cross polynation party. hell, festival even.
I know I'd have Dean play his old stuff in the heat of mid day. And I may have him play at night as well, by the sounds of his latest tracks. So hmmm, who else would I have play. Thinking out loud and in no particular order, here's what I was thinking. For sure Kri. His "spiritual awakening" mix opened doors for some of my non psy friends and I feel his touch would go well deep in the night, after some of the initial energy has dissipated and you're left in that state where portals open up. He's the one for long, deep journeys. Hmm, who else pops into my head as a necessary ingredient.... ah Kiva. Gotta have Kiva and I'm sorry man but I love you opening a party and in the day time. So I'd let you choose which. I'd have Paradigm early in the night, playing a jumpy set to get the kids all dance happy. Follow him with Konflux, playing as much of his own music as he has, to take things to a deeper level. Spyros .... no not Spyros yet, someone else before him. I want to hear Spyros rip heads off so that'll be for later.
One thing's for sure, I'd have some of the MoE crew at the right time. Probably Xylamanda, thrashing out the hardest, fastest shit they have. Gotta have some good come-down music after that... hmmm, who should it be...

Well, I could go on thinking out loud like this, but you know it really does make me crave hearing some of you guys from the other states. I know the vibe is different out there and what you'd bring out here to LA would be something new and really refreshing.
Like hearing folk music from other parts of the country. like from the Ozarks. you just don't hear that stuff live out here.

oh, as far as location. well naturally I pictured the Ranch cos that's what I'm most familiar with, but it sure would be nice to have it somewhere else. I was thinking Arizona (and I'd have Hahn the Barbarian play a minimal tech set for damn sure!)

This is very much in line with the sort of Arizona event I've had in mind for a while now, especially with the inclusion of Kri, Paradigm, and MoE. The difficulty here is, as always, LAND. I think it's safe to say that not many landowners here are willing to lend out their property for an event such as this - at least not as many as in California.

HOWEVER - that will not discourage me from trying, and hopefully the dots can be connected before spring comes on heavy. I really wanna get some folks from the East and West coasts out here to see the natural trance environments that this state has to offer. I will post updates here as warranted.
