Computer versus CDJ - this one question that it devaluates and it values dj, very wanted to know opinion of yours regarding the subject, the DJ that touches more in valued CDJ and than dj that it touches in the PC? In the end of the accounts the sound that leaves for it I publish and the same no is? With virtual dj/ablenton/reason it is very easy to touch, but this devaluates the artist?

Sorry for my english is bad

Vinyl, DAT, CD, PC - it doesn't really matter what use use, it's how you use it. If you can make a nice mix on a computer, that's splendid - what matters in the end is the music that comes out of the speakers.

I'm a CDJ myself (like the majority in the psyscene), but at some point I think we'll have to move towards using computers for mixing. There are so many new exciting possibilities for interesting and creative mixing.          DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

sorry guys, but there is no D is DJ if you mix with a computer.. D = Disk.. not HD (hard drive disk)

maybe we can start a new breed of HDJ's or something else..

yeah yeah, you can have cool effects and stuff too with a PC, but i think we should leave the effects for the artist themselves and focus on mixing insted.

sorry, im a little old fashion and i don't like all this talk about cdj 200's or PC mixing.. i think it will only kill the scene.

why kill the scene?? because if people start mixing with mp3's, there will be no more need for labels, meaning only the distributors (like beatport) will be releasing the music. That will most probably mean that artists will be making ALOT less money (and im judging by the advances i've paid to my artists for our compilation) per track released, plus there will be an extra intermediat (that doesn't give any advances whatsoever) ..

okay, im a little off track here.. sorry.

PC's are for live acts, CD players are for Dj's (or turntables for that matter) ..

but whatever, im just debating for the sake of debating.. i've stopped caring what others do around me a while back..

so, have fun !           "VA - REWIRED" OUT NOW !! (techtrance invasion) ---> http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/86303/forum/9

i tthink labels should ne smarter ana make something good out of digital music and playback. for example they could sell high quality wav files (not mp3) directly from their site , so computer djs can purchase them without the need of a distributor. this is one thing that would be useful, i dont know bout u, but here in my town there is not a single place where i can buy psytrance cds. so even if i had the cash and the will to buy , i just cant!!! and no i dont have a credit card either.. thats why many people download too.. i know this digital file sales has already started but with mp3 and not the god music. major labels should start selling high quality wav files directly from their site. i thnk thats the way of the future to buy music.           www.soundcloud.com/elektroakustica/sets/downtempo/

even if the label's start selling WAV's from there websites, you would still need a credit card to but the music from there sites..           "VA - REWIRED" OUT NOW !! (techtrance invasion) ---> http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/86303/forum/9

just like you need a credit card from psyshop, no?

i find funny when people come here and they start trashing the concept of computers VS CDJS's and whatnot... when exactly the same thing happens when you show up and check out a DJ that's spinning three decks... you ain't gonna get any respect eitherway when you unleash the cdj's 100's... it's the same thing and so the wheel goes round.

First and foremost a label is business and the rules of the game are changing. They are changing all the time. There's a new paradigm around every corner... if the business can't adapt to the changes... then those people are in a bit of pickle innit?           elementoftime.net

Come again....what are you trying to say?
"Compact Disk" or "Hard Disk" both have a D in them...both are discs that store sound.

I know I think "Hard Disk" sounds cooler than "Compact Disk" if that would have any relevance whatsoever in what medium one choose to utilize when performing.           (``·.¸(``·.¸(``·.¸¸.·`´)¸.·`´)¸.·`´)

I think what will kill the scene is stubborness and sticking to old ideas.
Hey wait, it already killed the scene.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

Pfff, I'm sorry but CDs have never and will never earn as much respect as vinyl does. You guys are talking about CDJs vs Traktor SW and whatnot but let me assure you that the remaining 92% of the EDM scene thinks psytrance is a joke because our DJs suck in general and we shun vinyl as if it were the plague...

My point being that who cares how you decide to digitally mix your music, there is so warmth in either media...
