i use to make music while i'm sober... i listen to it... if i like it, i drink a whisky and smoke a spliff... then i listen to it...
i believe people make better music when they are on natural, but if someone prefers to smoke some herbs is good as well, but i prefer to be normal... it depends on the person who is making music...

This bunch used drugs:
Lewis Armstrong, Jim Morrison, Ray Charles, Salvador Dali, Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Garcia, Jimi Page, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, James Brown, Bob Marley, Pablo Picasso, Van Gogh, Edgar Allen Poe, Hallucinogen, Koxbox, Mick Jagger, William Shakespare, Jules Verne, Oscar Wilde, Syd Barret, Dr Seuss, Walt Disney, etc.
This bunch did not use drugs:
Kenny G, Phill Collins, Ricky Martin, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Cruise, Tiesto, Bananarama, Nilly Vanilly, Lizzy McGuire, Justin Timberlake, Barney, Christina Aguilera, George Bush, Harry Potter, Skazi, etc
Conclusion: save your soul and just say YES the next time!!! hahahaha
Ok, I am sorry that was childish.
Anyways, like some people have said, probably most of the classical music artists did not use drugs. (although we all know its because they lived in the wrong time, hehe)
But fair and square, true genius like Mozart most likely did not use drugs. Mozart actually claimed that the soul of genius was really lloooovvvveee. Love
Anyhow, I think its each persons own choice. And those who preach about all the people like Janis Joplin and JImi Hendrix who DIED because of drugs, I think Bill Hicks has a nice response when talked about smoking:

I make music sober. When Im high, I cant work properly, and have no chanse of doing things right the way I want  But I often smoke a spliff halfway throuh a track, and give it a test-listen Then note down what could be changed and added for that special touch

hey hey hey PavelBavel. I'm not brown nosing. I write him personal love letter pr PM for that. He shoots H in his penis. I was just saying that that must be the reason for why his music is so beautiful and H like. Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again .. is about heroin.
