My 2 cents. It is fashionable to bash Antiworld. But I have been to many so called 'underground' psy parties in London, where to me the music (in the main room at least) was hardly distinguishable from what Antiworld parties have. E.G. Some Digital Hive parties, Alchemy records parties etc. Yet people go on about how amazing these parties are. To me it is just a scene thing, wanting to feel superior to someone else.

In general London psy parties music wise are hit and miss for me, but the atmosphere is nearly always lively and friendly. As for the bitchiness, I dont think it can be avoided, it exists everywhere, it is just human nature.

Nobody was bitching about Antiworld music selection, not in this thread anyway, it was about something else.
Give it a read and then say something.

Just in the first page of this thread, there are two people critisising Antiworld for the music they play (although my post wasnt aimed directly at them). Guess you should listen to your own advice.

This thread is not about music, it is about the directions where the U.K. is going.
2 comments in 5 pages are not relevant .

I gave the thread a long and diverse name so that it wouldn't be locked for going offtopic if the conversation veered. So far I reckon it's worked pretty well.. From my pov I think a discussion about the direction of the scene is necessarily about music, but others may disagree.

"england is bitch" - LKJ

but best place where to punish your liver

I think very clever idea @ tribal frog...a room for old fashion melanconic goa style trance...better music probably.

...if I want some good minimal I guess I get better quality one going to proper minimal nights...in Berlin...and not in London that is not avantguarde anymore from 10 years now and where nowadays the only fresh stuff around is dubstep.

directions ?....get an AZ !

Yep so not fresh that a lot of todays most talented producers in the minimal scene are UK based... pfff...
Berlin parties are massive and it is da place to be for minimal & electronic music ( I know i been there twice in the past 6 months ) but london still as a LOT to offer and IMHO parties here a really good with diverse lineups and many international artists can be found even in the smallest most underground of nights.

finally some proper directions...
can you tell me the best kebab place of Oranien Strasse too ?

good to see so many trance djs who finally wake up and smell around....still it's a bit cliche how they pretend to be the ONES who discovered something...while instead they just follow a huge trend that is all over the place...very good minimal from Argentina, Mexico, and Italy too...but honestly...nothing that can be called fresh really...but for sure less disturbing and more danceable than most trance.

Who was pretending to discover ? and what ?
Whats good to see is the same old people who complain and rant about every other thing in the scene or around it.
Get over it man.

I think out there there is little to be called "fresh" or innovative nowdays ,generally speaking.
Genres like minimal and dubstep have been around for very very long time, even tho at the present I agree they are given much more attentions.
