hahaha, i knew all those postings in other threads were just the same ol' crazy tyler smith. dude - SYNTAX learn about it. you did a terrible job of creating new characters. not only did you fail to vary your style of writing, but you even used phrases and info from your original posts. don't just assume that a new screen name will make everyone think you're a different person....you have to BE the new person. lolfail

you've kind of convinced me and others here that you're a schizo ego-maniacal weirdo who wishes he was shpongle but is so afraid to fly to gigs that he never will be. i mean, who the fuck other than a megalomaniac would make up a story like "a good friend of mine was so jealous of me that he ruined my online career." you think we'd believe that? you must be the kind of guy that jerks off in front of a mirror.

so, in conclusion, i'd like to say to you: get a better job. If you're such a great magician it shouldn't be that hard. if your biggest problem is your lack of funds maybe you should stop spending your time online cursing out music fans for downloading shit and instead find a better job than cleaning out grease traps; i know its possible. then maybe you won't feel so stressed over how your music is doing financially and can get back to enjoying the process.

and now, I will let you have the last words. enjoy.           http://soundcloud.com/rob-vector

This thread and your attitude is dissapointing Tyler.

All this anger and vitriol. Name calling and negativity.

The exact opposite of what I feel when I listen to your music. The exact opposite of what I felt when I met you at Alchemy Festival last year.

Makes me sad. Do you really expect all this bullshit to do anything but disgust people who support you? I certainly don't feel inclined to buy any more of your stuff after reading this travesty.

Not like ranting is going to make the people who pirate your music feel guilty enough to send you money anyways. Good job shooting yourself in the foot over and over and over again. I have been one of your most ardent defenders on here as I truly believed that you were being victimized and taken advantage of...but this thread is the nail in the coffin for me. I feel foolish for supporting and defending someone who acts so childishly.

I hope no one who listens to your music and enjoys it ever reads anything you write on this website. The music is still beautiful but for me...it is less so now, as whenever I listen to it I think of your words here.

BTW - how the fuck is taking an international gig and sharing your music with an appreciate audience egotistic? That does not compute.           If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

All I can say after reading this thread, this is by no means any "taking sides". I don't know the facts. But what I can say is that it was a long time ago I started expecting something back for the work I do. Being used is so common in life, in workplaces, wherever, you put your soul into something, you get nothing back. So what do you do? Well I keep putting my soul into things and I don't expect anything back, and guess what, somehow you get it back, although not from the people you are being used by, but from other parts of life. There will always bee greedy people, and generous people. If you don't like someone, step away, those people will always exist.

Nice. I knew opinions would fly as soon as I logged off.

I appreciate other people's perspective. I didn't expect to fool anyone other than those who have obviously learned they are foolish or too easily fooled. You're a smart guy, Rob. All the best with your music endeavors and safe travels to your gig in Canada. Ask Adham how he is enjoying TouchOSC and his iPad for me. He's an awesome cat!

I'll say it again. I do not live to be like or disliked.

I do not *need* anyone's money. It proves itself over and over how LITTLE people actually know about me. How does one know whether I have a job or not? How does one know what I really *do* for a living?

"How many licks does it take to get the center of a Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop? The world may never know."

All I can say is the support shown directly supports the means to the MUSIC I create. I keep it going by the support I receive. In the beginning it was an initial attempt to steer people away from the accustomed "label" dedication to support my work directly from me and get people used to getting the music and helping me directly.
I'm sure more and more labels are dreading the fact when they are obsolete entirely because of this grass-roots connection from artist direct to fan.
This was met with some negative and cynical opposition by some of you (Vector, Bodhisattva, etc) because you didn't understand that I had every right to be doing so. It was part of the deal I cut with CDREC after failing me on download sales in the past and they could only pay LESS for an album release this time around.
You criticized me for not glad-handing fans enough in this forum and slapped me in the face for promoting my work instead.
Kudos for that!

Everyone enjoy *their* reality-tunnel.

Are these threads deleted yet? Or are they just going to keep making money for this website?

I teach math on sundays sometimes. I get the moeny "in my pocket" there is no tax. For a student like me 400 swedish krones, approx 70 dollars for 2 hours of work is quite nice. Sometimes I "smell" the paper, and rub it in my face, it's a real rewarding feeling. mmmm, hehe Then I spend it all on webcam girls, mmmm. That's the proof I'm not greedy

I agree. Maybe they will delete it.

Sorry I didn't live up to your expectations, Will.

Dood, "Androcell is NOT your cup of tea." Why the fuck are you even LOOKING at this thread?

Just trying to make yourself look cute, eh?

If I've learned anything in my experience with this scene is the ONLY thing you can count on is contradiction, myself included in the grand scheme of that notion.

I think my words clearly indicate that I am NOT worried about losing support from some of you. Many know that if you like the music, WHO CARES who is behind it. I feel that way about many "great" artists I finally ended up meeting along my path and they opened their mouths. If they had noble words, they would be a WRITER not a musician.

We never run our business (including disagreements, which do happen some times) on public platforms and see it as unprofessional, and usually if someone will slander us like Tyler did here, he and the platform he'll be using will get a letter full of legal lingo, but considering the situation, this isn't something we'll do here. We do feel like we have been abused here, and so would like to tell you what happened to us here.

As we said, we never released any music by Tyler, though we were interested at the time (6-7 years ago), as we saw potential there. However Tyler did work for us on a cover and some other minor graphic works, and there was the story with the remix. So we dug out those old emails.

Yes, Shulman (and not AZ) didn't agree to license the remix Tyler asked to make and made for him to release on Tyler's album. The reason was that Tyler wouldn't pay Shulman a percentage from the advance he was getting for it, after all it was Shulman's track, name and reputation and copyright. Shulman asked for something very symbolic- it was $180, which was 50% of the whole advance Tyler was getting for the album divided by the number of tracks minus $20. Very modest. At that time, the music world was in much better situation and Shulman tracks were being licensed for 800 Euros advance minimum. The reason Tyler gave Shulman for not being able to pay him his modest requested share, was that he needed the whole advance to buy a car. And yes, when Tyler went and without asking Shulman's permission gave it as a free download, even though it wasn't his to give and he didn't own it, Shulman asked for it to be removed at once.

As for the cover work, AZ was indeed very happy with Tyler's work on our concept of Natural Born Chillers, and we did want to continue working with him, and supplied him with some more graphic work and definitely thought we found our own designer to work with. Needless to say Tyler was paid as agreed between us for all his work. But things went "south", as Tyler put it, when he suddenly flipped out and got all crazy and aggressive and impossible to communicate with, something quite similar to what has been happening lately here. We then decided to part ways with him, and actually did not have any communication with him till this started.

That's it. Just wanted to give our side of the story. We are people, we make mistakes in our conduct for sure, we are pedantic, perfectionists and at times too opinionated. But we always back our words and keep are promises, we're honest and do our best to take good care of our artists and their art. And we do all this from love for the music, we're not in it for the money, if we were after money we would be making it, and probably a lot of it, in the professions we left for the music. Now we'll go back to work on the music we're about the release soon...

The next step in sonic evolution!
