5Meo_geo you are missing the point big time here !
Again:
Artists are alowed to make money out of their music !!! Basta !!! I dont't care if you our your freinds thing music should be free.... then go and make it yourself and allow us to sell our music. We do not ask to becoeme superstars..all we're asking is for people to buy our music instead of stealing it !!!
If you can't see this pint that we are in all right to get paied when we sell a CD then you should get your school money back  |

5Meo-Geo ..most finnish stuff is absolute random crap, those ppl spend like 20 min on a track and find it ready, and upload it to mikseri.net or something.. it's not art, it's crap.. you think it's so great cause it happens to be finnish? sure it's different than the other stuff out there.. but just cause it's different does not mean that it's good..

Elysium Project, i think you should loosen up a little... as i said countless times before, i think you might actually benefict from the mp3 trading scene...
For example, i've think i never listened to your music. And now i'm very curious, after seeing all your replies.
A little search in psyshop brings up 4 compils and one album (regenerated). I click on it, and i get 45 sec of preview of each music with shitty quality, which i don't know if it's taken from the beggining or end of a track. Is that supposed to elucidate me? Now how can i know your music? I have 2 options: either i buy the album without listening to it at all, and either find myself with music that i like, or with €15 of music i don't like!
Second option: i download your album in mp3 and i apply my rule... if i like at least 50% of the songs i buy it. And that happens more than you think.
But according to your logic, i should buy the album without having the slightest clue of your music? I'm sorry, but that's a little egotistical.
About GMS, if you don't like them, then that's your problem. Why do you seem to hate them so much? Of course their music sounds all the same. It's called their STYLE. Yes, maybe they have too many remixes and releases, yes maybe they're all about the money, yes maybe they do a lot of double bookings, but i think some (not all of course) of their music is really good. Really really good.
That's why i think they stepped up to take the #1 place in the trance scene, which belonged to Infected Mushroom 3 or 4 years ago.
(this last 2 paragraphs are IMO of course)

i dont say stop selling u'r music
i wont interupt u'r life
but again stop biaching about "ppl in internet rip our music and we gont get our money" stuff
with all the respect u cant fight progress and yes u should consider that u'r cd will be on net even before the stores otherway u live in illusion
this is the way that its work now and noone can do nothing about this
so there is 2 options for ya
1-keep making music
2-stop making music becouse of a "cruel" world
and traveler ....
fin music is unique cose IT IS MUSIC and not random loops running in sertain order
even if Timo or Pepe or any other shroomhead will make a track in 20 min's its still will tell way more that any of novadays utzautza track that was "been producing for half year" and sure will kick dancefloor way stronger and yes this is power

well Chi if you had done your homework propely you would have searche for my website and then you would have found 2 minute samples of my music in full stereo quality... And why should i lighten up? Is it your music that is getting stolen by rich spoiled kids?
Anyway I never said I hated GMS...I actually know Rictam and Bansi and have had them as guests in my house and have nothing against them personally...I just dont like their factory music...sorry!
Last it's not up to me to decide if psyshop have 45 mins. samples or not!!!! But it is for sure my business if people steal my music !!! Development or not... Stealing is stealing no matter how advanced the technology is !!! |

well maybe i'm a little bit old fashion but ,
i know that i'm going to buy some cd's , i can listen to it in the store when i buy it...
that's what i was used to do b 4 i had internet & i still do !
i know that the world is changing & everything but not all changes are good eventualy , think people !
what makes labels that want to survive to release commarcial music is that people dont buy cd's.
label & artists cant after all live from compliments... u cant trade it with monitors or compile a new compilation with that !
we didnt choose that money will make the world go round , we born into it & no one can change it !
money is not what makes most of the artists i know to create music ,but for sure it can help them create more quality music monitors , synth's , powerfull computers & more costs money not all of us r swimming in it !

i have some thoughts...
1 What would be the right?
BUT the right and the appropriate would be, people who like or love something whatever it is , should support it in order to make it better !!
What we need to think is what is good for the scene , and what is the best we can do to help.
Is it good to download?
When you download something from the net automaticaly you support it , but still in order to be part of it there is much more to be done.. Just to download something is just not enough to make it grow and thats a fact! Its a good start though to know music and promote young music..
Support = give money?
Remeber.. support means lots of things and not only MONEY! {By the way All i can see in this thread is words of money, business, stealing, percentages.. }
So after the following thoughts i will say: guys "can u make it ALL FREE "Share your passion for free with the rest people!!" i guess the answer is no?
Anyway, its understood because money rules everywhere and because business is business, there are no limits even if its for art or business, today there is no big difference everybody needs something and everything needs somebody to give money.
So.. Chi's second option would be ideal for the the "music industry and their products"
ps: people who dont support music but just use it for self-promotion are like artists who talk much about money like creedy businessman.
To the artists: have you consider your "artististic" status(love of creation) at all or is it everything YOU DO only about fame and money? |
