Ok putting aside the massive sweeping generlisations about 'all darkpsy music', the fact you keep going on and on about 152 BP+ being 'too fast' for complex rhythms is just stupid. Are you a drummer? You can play complex rhythms/polorhythms at 200 BPM+, ever heard of be-bop?

imo the problem is not the lack of the possibility to program complex rhythms/structures in high bpm's, but that it is hardly possible for every sound to unfold its whole potential and its beauty. i like to give every sound its own space in the picture and between the kicks, i like to hear everything from start to end, and that somehow implies slow bpms (personally like it 130 - 140)           Anakoluth A Pebble in Your Eardrum's Shoe since 2001!

DiMiTry - hehe
_______________

If you are chilled out you want slow music? if you are stressed out you want fast music?
or is it the other way around?

we all have different "inner rhythm" and these also change from time to time and sometimes we sync with eachother, just like the frequency of the thought, sometimes a thought can reside for a long time, almost nagging, sometimes thoughts flash by in a nano second. low freq thoughts and high freq thoughts.

i like it fast i like it slow.. but i dont like it when its shitty!! haha

speed is not a factor for quality in my opinion..well not more than that its harder to play fast.
lets take a analogy...

if someone plays fast on drums it takes alot more focus and stamina, so like I337 says, its harder to play music fast.... though when you sequence music and not actually play it with your body and mind i would not say its more difficult than to make it slow...

adjust the tempo in your sequencer and off you go. the physical aspect, about wavelengths and frequency cycles is something to bare in mind.

there is room for fast and slow, its all about what you feel like...

As X-Dream said once to an interview on Lemon Magazine(Greece)....''it's not necessery to make fast tracks to make the people dance''......they belong to the few groups that produce excellent music and they have so damn right!!!
