Domino is definitely one of my favorite DJs. So funky and energetic, and her picks are fantastic, IMO. How can you not dance to her sets?

But even she admits that she's a bit of a tom boy.

Ree-K (partner with Masa) is also very skilled.

but anyways guys and gals marcelinha wanted some opions about why women don't dj not a list of women djs.

can we raise the debate to the level of discussion rather than a series of statements?

Stela nutela is a F*** GREAT dj!!!

yeah...i agree with almost u..

i asked 'cause here in brazil just have about 6 women playing...and only 2 of hem is active in scene...the organizers of the parties always prefer the men...
i'm playing for 6 months...and at really didn't have really good oportunities to show to ppl what i can do... i've already played with tamir (atomic pulse) in a private party and he said me that he liked...

(i just was born to do this)

and i really think, exists sexism...and it's very sad...

thanks all for the attention!!!

Marcelinha,
I'd love to here you play.
I'm sure sexism exists the psytrance DJ world as it does in most aspects of life. Yes, it is sad. But I believe that if you believe in yourself, there is nothing you can't do. No barriers you can't break.

Domino and her Japanese sisters formed an all-women organizer group called S.M.I.L.E. Their festival last year year was absolutely majikal. Where there's a will there's a way, my friend.

It's a shame, you'd expect that our scene would be open minded.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

ella gutman doesnt play trance as far as i know and if were talking about more famous one there is sister bliss which is top class in her sets (still not trance),anyway, in israel i only saw gula k,which is great in my opinion, loved her stuff
more gals r welcome!           I want you to understand that this man at the wheel is my attorney. He's not just some dingbat I found on the strip, man. He's a foreigner. I think he's probably Samoan. But that doesn't matter, though, does it? Are you prejudiced?

interestingly, the uk hard house scene is riddled with women djs... and they are all called lisa
lisa pin-up, lisa lashes, charlotte birch - this is a small 'local' (in the sense of local to the uk pretty much) and these three are at the top of the djing ladder... could it be something about the music?           >>love will tear us apart...<<

I think you're overreacting marcela.
You don't get much chances to play because you're a newcomer, a rookie DJ so to speak, and in these days where everyone is a DJ, it's not so easy to get many bookings.
Plus, you live in Belo Horizonte, where the scene (and thus opportunities) is way smaller.
I mean, Tati is already established and getting a lot, and I mean a lot, of bookings.

And come on, saying

is a little too much huh?

work hard and maybe you'll break through. Don't expect easier times just because you're female though.
the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist....
