I can assure you that this it not a trick and that it would all be the orginal wav.
If you want to call me a liar then go ahead, but my interest is not in trying to twist infomation but to get the truth established.

By the way you also have a shop selling mp3s no?So accusing me that i am not being objective since i have an audio cd label is at least an unethical hit below the belt dont you think?

I just was hitting back...you where the one saying I am not objective in the first place, and now it's a hit under the belt when I say the same thing about you?
I sell about equal amounts of mp3, FLAC and CD's so there is really no reason whatsoever for me to try to glorify mp3's out of personal interests.
How much do you get in on mp3's compared to CD's?
But thats not the main reason I think your statements about mp3 is very subjective.
It's how you present them and discount other tests that has been made based on some very loose experiences in a party.
I can assure you that the gain structure of the DJ playing for example will matter a lot more to the sound quality than if they use 320k mp3.
CD's or players in bad condition will make error correction take place and will also have a greater effect than if they use mp3 or not.

Spindrift would be really stupid to put a false test out on a site like isratrance which is full og djs & producers with a flair for using computers. He doesnt seem stupid to me at all.
Most of us can easily do our own testing, only thing is we cant really be bothered to do anything but accusing each other of lying or being untrustworthy.
We can do Spindrifts test, or our own - But lets settle it once and for all - In the long run, some of us can do blind PA testing also, with several listeners.

Great...thanks colin.
For sure codecs improve all the time, and the VBR files is encoded with the new --vbr-new preset, which should be an improvement from previous VBR encodings in that the filsize is smaller as well as acheiving transperency in ABX tests with the exception of some extreme material.
But if you did not conduct tests before where you made sure you didn't know what file was what it's nothing to be embarrased that you where wrong.
That is completly normal, no matter how objective you like to be one just can't avoid the subjective coloring of how we perceive audio.
I was first convinced that I could hear the difference with 192k when preparing the samples...but it seems I was suffering from placebo, being quite convinced that 192k would have audibly lesser quality.
Now I have been seeing the resuts of proper ABX tests with the new codec and also the three people that tested here and in sonic-energy forum so far.
I can only conclude that I must have been fooling myself.

The codecs used:
LAME 3.97 with the following options:
320k CBR: -b 320
190k VBR: -V 2 --vbr-new
About how you did....like I said I post the results some three days from now, so you'll have to wait until then

DETOX:
compare the files dude, even notepad will open them and you can tell if they're different files. (They are, and I couldn't tell the difference in my grado lab sr60's, much to my disappointment)
What are you so afraid of that you won't take the test? |

I know Ernst Hot in real life - He is not another user in disquise, he is a personal friend of mine and I asked him to take the test since my friend has been working with music production for a long long time & has pretty good ears.
