I noticed that the trance scene does not gets any credit (very very small credit) from any source of the Israeli media. Most scenes and even much smaller ones get much more credit (either on radio, tv, newspapers, etc), but trance always remains out. Trance quit being "drug music" long time ago, now days there are 12 year olds that love trance. What R the reasons trance always stays out of the game in game in Israel, why they HATE US SO MUCH?

Yup you're right.

Why do I have to feel different when I'm putting trance in the car? (Progressive. Astrix and stuff like that is very common)
Why do I have to feel different in the abandoned Trance section of CD stores?
Why my friends, and many people I know, can't like trance as much as I do?

Trance is good! people should be more open.

I like the fact that the Psy Trance scene is still a bit underground...I don't see any problem with keeping it this way...do we really want it to become mainstream and totaly commercial? I think not...

It's not correct.
You start to have radio trance shows (106fm have plenty of it), and yes have a music channel only for trance.
It takes time, but little by little we're accepted.           Majority is never right!

It's not only trance. Take metal for example.
They're small as well.

Radio shows after 10:00PM, I am sure you won't hear astrix's new track at 12:00pm. I think trance should get more respect and the artists should get credit like anyone who calls him self an artist in Israel. Even the Israeli Hip-Hop scene (which I like) gets much more respect and credit, even though trance has more fans and been in Israel longer.

hmmm
the media really never talks about the great trance scene here, except of drug raids on parties, thats a thing should be changed..

on the other hand, keeping the scene more underground will be better...

Idan that's not true.
You've got every wednesday on 106fm a show hosted by Gidi at around 22:00 if I'm not mistaken.
I believe all people are up at that time no?           Majority is never right!

Well, the lack of coverage of Israeli trance acts by the media in Israel is something I find rather absurd. Now, I'm not talking about the big newspapers, but even the small local ones which keep on showing how great the "local talents" are (bands that never got cose to releasing an album, and even if they would, no one would buy it even though it's commercial, due to lack of quality), while many great trance acts were ignored (I haven't read one word about the Sesto Sentos, BLT, or even the more famous veteran acts like Space Cat and Oforia. About lack of TV coverage of anyone other than Astral Projection or Eyal Barkan, well, that's just it.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

well kaz, the newspapers r only publishing things that r popular in israel and things that can sell...
unfortune is defenetly here and the trance, and electronic music (the "underground" music) in whole r not popular and selling like the rest...
and when people dont hear about the people behind the trance scene and about the music itself the only time the hear about the trance its with criminal attachments...
sad but true my friends...
but i dont think its gonna change here, lots of things in israel got to change first and u know how it is in israHell...           I want you to understand that this man at the wheel is my attorney. He's not just some dingbat I found on the strip, man. He's a foreigner. I think he's probably Samoan. But that doesn't matter, though, does it? Are you prejudiced?

Israeli rap got big because he got all the credit in the world as soon as the scene started to grow. I like Israeli rap (I even produced a song for my brother and his friends), but as much as I am happy to see Israeli rap acceptable like any other type of music in Israel, I wish trance who been in Israel for so fuckin long and basically changed the Israeli night life will be accepted and respected also.

Not commercilization but some credit and respect!!! As I said raver girl 10:00pm, sure most young people are awake, but how many people listen to radio at 10:00pm at night?

I don't know, I guess it is up to the people to change it, buy CDs go to parties support the scene and those fuckers who run the media won't have any choice but to catch up.

Peace!

it's somthing i noticed myself, since working in ynet the past 2.5 years. electronic music in general, and trance in specific. i looked some in the yedioth archive and dug some interesting stuff. apparently, most articles have nothing to do with the music. they mostly deal with busted parties, and some major articles about people who decieded to organize trance parties (the avramov case was a shining example - a full scale article about the party in his house and the following consequences). mainly i think the mainstream media is reluctant to touch the issue other than your usuel drug-busts stories and horror tales of the girl who took some X and almost died (yeah, right). i think the reason to that is due to the fact that most journalist chiefs here don't pay much attention to the musical aspect, and are more interested in what went wrong in say, a party. there was an article or two about Astral, but again, it was another interview with the guys about how they are prosecuted by the police. all in all, you can safely say the media is biased. but one can understand them. no one wants to read about a good trance party. they wanna read about the busted ones so they can nod their head, tsk their toungues and say "it's awful".
occasionally though, you get some articles about artists, such as yahel, infected and i think even analog pussy made it there once.
