I do not understand your reaction. I am french and I can say to you that in France we do not have any support. It is very difficult to organize parties and we very expensive pay the organization of parties. The state does not love us and seeks to destroy the movement.
No radio passes from the trance except www.psychedelik.com which is on the Net.
I think you do not see the chance that you have.

France is not Israel
you can't compare those countries
our "artists" are not so good. their music is not successfull worldwide, but the media keeps writing about these failures and introduces new potheads. however, many trance artists do not get the same exposion in the media, even if they are really big in the world trance scene (there are many ones, i dont think names are really needed). the media keeps writing about the poor ones who only sale a few copies in israel and dont do any tours in the world...
the media sucks, they dont write about one of the last good things that still survive in that hard times, and it does that well.

Hello my friends, I´m portuguese and in Portugal ít´s almost like in Isreal!!!
They Hate us because, like portuguese media say, It´s the music of PUM PUM PUM, or the DrugMusic!!!
And i say that: Fuck the all Media's and let´s help wichothers, to do TranceComunity the Best Comunity in tha WORLD!!!!!

Thats BS, I can say Heavy Metal is Psycho music only screaming, hip hop is a gangster music, pop is a 12 year old girls music, house is gay music, and so on.
The fact I say it doesnt make it true. If you like hip hop you know it is not gangster music, if you like pop you know it is not 12 year old girls music, and if you like trance you know it is not just boom boom.
I don't know how big the scene in potugal, but I do know (even though I don't live in Israel for a while) that Israel has the biggest scene in the world, very big artists, and some artists that sell more cds than many other non-trance artists. The fact trance survived in Israel for more than a decade means something. Usually things die off in Israel very fast. Thats deserves respect and credit just like any other music in Isreal.

Elvis was considered "The Devil's Music" once. the beatles were banned from israel once, because someone at the government who read an article about them decided they were immorale. these guys are now considered great artists, well respected throughout the world. why? because the same fans who loved them, the hippies and the beatle maniacs and elvis lovers grew to be an influential force. read some of the articles about beatles music in say, maariv, or a lennon article from yedioth - they are written by someone who was there (the fact that both these authors, ron meiberg and Jonathan geffen, are pricks, notwithstanding).
this is the best example of music rejected, underground fame, and later on praised and idolized by the press. this is a classic example of shahar's signiture - Be the change you want to see in this world.
you want the press to start accepting trance into the fold of mainstream music and start writing serious, un-biased articles? do somthing about it.
to those who say Fuck the Media (even with a smile), i say - the media, mainstream one, is the best tool in the world to get a message through. you just need the guts and balls to do it.

Excuse me? you are unhappy about the fact that you aren't in the media?
Here in belgium it's the opposite! we don't want to be in newspapers, tv-shows or whatever kind of publicity... keep it underground, keep it small, preserve the family atmosphere!!! we don't have/want posters for our parties, personal flyer invitations are most common!
the downside to all this ? only 1 dedicated record store...

rik, it's not being or not being in the media, it's being in the media in a biased way. every trance article in one of the major media hubs is either about the drug problem or the problem with drugs...
