I remember some discussion some time ago abt soundcloud. Today got this:

Hey,

djkarynhughesa sent you a message:

"Your tunes are breathtaking, did you ever try increasing some followers? - It will get your music noticed by more listeners and promoters. I am certain you can find someone to do it for a few bucks. I like this site, they are low-cost and their product is of high quality

http://www.promoteurmusic.com/

20 bucks for 50 comments on a track, i have with some tracks the feeling they bought this service.

anyhow, all social media is just about total illusion of being something somewhat somehow in the matrix, i really dont care much abt a scam within the scam. just stop waisting your time and energy on social media i would say.

Hehe yep, these have been around for some years now.

But it's not only on SoundCloud man, those fakers are everywhere

From what I know, the SoundCloud team fights pretty hard to remove these false positives, and delete spam accounts, but I don't think they also clean up the stats created by them..

(And there are entire businesses in Asia based on this type of business model, unfortunately.. )

Just do your part and report that guy!           Super Banana Sauce http://www.soundcloud.com/knocz

Its fairly strait forward. Your music is good, or its not.

I don't think SC is dead, cause i've found many Big tracks like the guys from Astrix or Ace Ventura - still gets loads of plays, likes and comments in a very short period of time. (like a few hours)

Don't think that any of them pays alot of money to get fake comments etc. The music is just fu*king good.

You have to accept that if your track does not do so well, it's just not up to todays standards.

If you get 10 plays with no likes or comments, then its really a strait forward answer from the world. Go compare your track to one of the big guys and ask yourself, did you really put in the effort to get a unique sound with your pads, lead, fx, etc. Or did you just use presets or arps together with a beat. Quality would then be the next question.

I've gone through thousands of presets and I never hear any of them in a great track.

Ps. Also psytrance has a moderate following on SC, I had a House music profile and got 10 followers a day. With Psytrance profile I get like one a day.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm tired of listening, there's so much stuff out there and so much people are seeking for attention, who doesn't produce music these days and seek for recognition, really

... And if they all really buyed their/the DAW, vst(i)'s & sample-banks and maybe patches,
the "social media" market is good for the cash box of the software, sample & patches "producer"...

You know whats "switched on"...

well its complete full to the knock brother , like it always end , dead i don't know , I hear good new producers making great psytrance but not many likes , so i don't agree with ansolas comment this your music is not good !
and people got a habbit to listening to the big guys and give it a like . like madonna vs abooma ( ha,ha ) its how it works , then our ego wants recognition , like facebook ,and we think as we have 2000 followers that its real ! Its not, yeah bro a bit of the matrix stuff ! But lately i did good post from a view labels to release some stuff ! so in a way soundcloud can help , but the most inportent i think as a producer to love the music learn as long you have to learn and hear you getting better and better , rafi shankar became master of his sitar after 11 years , many expect in 2 0r 3 years there done ! see we are all artist and when your moment is there to shine it will be there , Namaste

Yeah, its a lot of good and lovely music and music stuff out there...
A lot of people do their thing with all devotion and love...
Some know excatly which screws have to spin to reach a target...
And the mind-focus of the target is a big thing...

And all this crosses once in a while maybe the "market" and the "market" and "marketing" is really another thing than 10 or 20 years ago,
where labels, event organizer, Djs and people which buyed CD's or Vinyl stood into another "matrix-correspondence" than in todays times...

The time was slower "without" downloads and the "tools" (DAW's, VST(i)'s, Tutorials etc.) were not so spreaded than today...

Some artists are "grown up" with all of it...

At the end its sometimes a question how a person is minded and which reflection the "matrix" gives... But not in general...

Its nice to meet my "old" DJ friends and to see their "old" vinyls and their "original" CDs, evrything is a special psytrance-thing...
They did a good job on "stage", but now they are "retreated"...

Now harddisks are sometimes full with much, much more than its listenable in the next 5 or 10 years...

However, the people say "modern times"...
And some of the "fast" lanes of today are not everyone's thing, even though they are good artists (with not much clicks)...

good music speaks for it self. no need for fake likes.

comparing to more commercial electronic music, psy is not so popular, so people don't worry much about faking their online numbers.

I heard that edm producers buy fake followers and likes in all social platforms, not only to create a buzz, and to impress labels. but also as an help to get artist visas, to play in other countries................ faking fame!

Yes, psytrance isnt as "pop"ular as other "EDM"...

Today this crossed my "screen" of "social media charts" :

https://topdeejays.com/psytrance/

Maybe its fun for someone, maybe orientation...

Or maybe its nice to scroll through the sound of the artists of the "ranking", on the first look they linked the artist well...

there are so many good tunes with 200 plays or less, very few likes and many without any comments.
those numbers that are in no way a reflection of the quality of the tracks.

a while ago, tons of listeners were uploading third party tracks that they liked, instead of listening to the original uploads by the artists.

Yeah, the "charts" do not tell about good music, they tell nothing other than only one thing :
"Most" of something in the mainstream of a genre...

In the past it meant only a lot of sells... "A golden one" as a kind of honour...

Today in the social media it means "a lot of clicks"... Faked or real...

Its a big psychological thing out there...

Then he's marketing skills ain't that great. It really all depends on what the artist wants to achieve with his music. Many upload their tracks and that's it.

Sure the benefit would be to keep it underground - but Psy is already underground in the commercial sector, so burying it deeper ain't the best option. You get the producers that aim to get a gig, and you get those that just enjoy composing the music - a self satisfactory treat for the soul.

Each to their own.

+1
I totally agree on this. I feel that the "art" side of music is dying.
Maybe this is the right time to go backwards and explore the great music of 20th century!           https://soundcloud.com/poisonritual
