hm... your statements are bit chaotic and I still dont know what you are exactly implying.
you seem to me as some rather angry person that feels like it has been robbed and this word 'dark' isnt anymore in his 'possesion' or part of a small community but crowds get their hands over it and they interpreting it in their own way.
but thats the way when some things get more spread as it is in our age of internet and fast growing technology.
i think the best choice would be to chill out and look to some new things... ;] |

dark because i like the word dark 
simple has that..why do u use xp voodoo? cause xp was invented by microsoft, and voodoo was a term that was already used long before u were even born 
se ya man, and don´t b upset, cause life is much more than words...and like someone has said it: music is music, dance 2 it and appreciatte it...dont follow connotations

Well said. This supposed "dark-psy-trance", the best I can put it, is hardly dark. It tries to be, but fails. A subgenre isnt really dark because the tracknames 'look dark' or the producer dresses in black. The only real dark music in my opinion, is industrial/noise/gothic, which I love by the way.
Psy is a positive spiritual genre, and I wouldn't want to hear some track about Satan at a party, though there are those who would. It's all music either way. |

dj nick name-it came out from the streets,lets say ,around 1992.Hope you know,when same named microsoft programm was invented-around 12 years after,no.
I m happy for you that your nick is so original that for sure even Doka Heitz will not name any software like this.Who knew it,it was even no internet thiat time:)
And the combination of XP VOODOO is the very original version as well.No repeats in this clew.
For example COCA and PEPSI they are both colas ( and 100 more),but the brend is the combination of the word-COCA COLA,PEPSI COLA.'Capish?
And for the rest.Guys,dont get me wrong,or activate your brain hard drives-I dont care who use and where this word,specially it was not particulary ME who invented.
I just ask-where is your positivism.Why this word -::DARK"
Not why you like dark,or anything.
There are anybody who just for fun want to suggest to name this style OTHER NAMES?

Dark because its an atmosphere that the music takes you into ! something mystic ,a feeling(when you close your eyes) . it does'nt mean its negative ,,, sure its not bad !!
some styles sound more dark !!
some more fluffy
some more light !!
some deep
and some deeper !!

OK I'm not a big fan of the new Dark trend (although I was into Black/Death metal before i discovered electronic music 8)
Anyway Handa, with all do respect, I think this kind of attitude is arrogant and closed-minded. Sounds like something a kid
or fundemantalist Christian with its head in the past would say.
This is exactly the same kind of thing many die-hard trancers used to say when Flying Rhino started to put out
Progressive music..."Goa trance is not about Housey grooves and minimalism etc"...
Fast forward 7 years or so; now Progressive has become a very common (big) thing in this scene.
(and if I'm not mistaken you're making it as well nowadays).
So if 'our scene' is really about respect and open-mindedness, let's drop the rules crap.
We have to deal with enough shitty rules in daily life, let's keep our psychedelic playground
free from them ok? So whether u want to please shiny happy people on the morning trancefloor or summon

I just wanted to add that the term "dark" was used in 1994 in the forests in Scandinavia to descibe our music here (deep trippy and dark)... seem Para Sense came 3 years too late |

maybe this isn`t the right answer on this thread but y dark? because of eskimo and such... that`s why.
been a fan of parasene`s work from the beggining and i still am. even tough i think their first was their best!

its like morning full on, then I can ask the saim qustion y morning why sun?????
well, we are the ppl of darkness and we like sounds of dark such as you hear in horror movies, demons and vempirs scremings sound of pain and frightness,
now, dark ppl are not scared of this music we enjoy it, like befor in heavy metal scene, we like it black we like it heavy strong and we like it DARK
its not most defenatly not morning (even if you play it at mornings) full on fluffy morning melodic bla bla moon and sky sounds full on.... baaa
we play HELL'S WRATH night+morning set on fire all the time.
and all the CC's cant handle it, let them stay where they r with their morning fluffy full on and keep looking for somthing in the sky, while we keep on
oh yes dark DARK dark DARK ahhhh

Are you into satanism and do you pratice it as an religion? A valid question. I am not trying to judge you and I dont know if you and your fellow artist/listeners are into satanism or not... I would just like to know. |
