I personally dont really understand what all this darkness have to do with trance. The whole trance movement were build on the idea to spread some light and happiness and to dance. Not to worship the dark side of life and listen to heavy metal guitars in trance.... to me it's all bullocks and got absolutely nothing to do with trance.... |

Look,what is going on-"dark music,"hi to all dark people","dark after party(!)",dark psy,dark nebula,winter demon,smiling ripper.

What I am talking about is nothing with the music ( and,actually,more of this type of music,which for unknown reason people call DARK is not really -it ispsychedelic,experimental,minimal,night,I donno.
I cant say,that I like the name FULL ON as well,but this term is kinda OK,describes by itself the situation on the dancefloor when this music is playing even if u donno what is all this trance about .
But DARK...What-no light on the party place?Or more people are dark skin....Or the Darkness and Dark side with dj Darth Vader ?
I m really sorry I didnt patent this name in my time,so I could prohibit it now,but ...
It was fckn 97,now is 2005,maybe the uprising geniouses from DARK scene will create better,modern and more positive name for what they are doing?

and how can one justify all those remixes of mc hammer , 50 cent and who knows what more to come .....is this psytrance ??????
at the end of the day its the tastes of the people that matters , there is no need to divide this so called dark trance and full on , as long as its psychedelic and more over as long as the people enjoy it on the dancfloor-))

Too me "dark psy", "dark trance" or whatever ... it's just a name, I don't feel it has got anything to do with being actually dark. With the exception of a few artists/tracks. (Xenomorph for instance.)
I think it's just a result of people who are in need of labels and (sub)genres.

ha ha, mistress of evil records started as a joke too, making fun of all the trendy artificial.superficial imagery in the trance scene... now its outta control, mwah ha ha
and btw with the exception of Ghreg on Earth, Horror Place, and Xenomorph- there really isn't much "dark trance" out there these days in my opinion, just super tripped out twisted funky psychedelic beats  yay i love these too

welll dark stuff has stuff which has weird samples n swishes etc..and usually played at night...while its...DARK...hence the name came about ..dont u think..??

Music reflects people's emotions. For example, I would find it logical and normal for somebody from Finland to produce psytrance with spooky and hard sounds. Producers from Israel or Brasil are making "lighter" form of psytrance. Other influences are previous experiences with music styles and emotional inspiration. People who aren't afraid to express any of their feelings do that freely through music. So if Parasense felt shitty only day they decided that they will make something that will sound absolutely mean.
The word that describes this style can be either DARK or NIGHT. But what is really sad to me is that there are always some people that take things too far. For instance there are some idiots that descriminate against music, like...ooh, I listen to DARK...that MORNING shit SUCKS... you know what i mean. Don't go in extremes people. Find balance in everything, even in music. I was listening to a dark mix before and now i'm listening chilled out stuff |

Parasense were indeed the pioneers of twisted samples and basslines, but I think it's little selfish to claim that YOU are the inventor of a subgenre or a style of music. On a "lighter" note, invent a cure for cancer and then brag all you want |

you have answered your own question, xp. it is sad but true. there is an position of orthodox church (i think many of you wouldnt understand what i mean because of my english and complicant subject) that jokes and buffoonery are not good. and here we have an example of what it means. you've just joked. but you know any joke has only part of joke. doesnt metter what way you can understand this idea it is so at any level of perception. and now we can only say that when we say dark we actually do not mean dark. but it is just funny. all words have their meanings and nobody asks you if you are want to mean this or not. i hope that now you will be more careful with words you are saying... im sure that you already more careful. there is nothing to do with this. only watch to not repeat this situation in the future.

After reading this topic,when my head stopped swirling,i felt capable to finally post on this..
After reading some posts,i found some very genuine ones, and as I was gaining confidence to answer.. Robomarket said it all..

You want to claim money?some fame perhaps whit this?This sub-genre has existed for some years now,not supported on the mainstream effects,neither on the exposure of sun light...Some prefer it, no matter what name ya give it...
Why even bother to change the name of something that has already 7 years?...After you named it...
Whats the point in that? You wanted Copyrights or something for a kind of a "nickname" ya gave in tone of joke with some friends?
If you named it "Dark",it must have been a reason,no?Pick it up from there...
